This fish doesn't only feed the fishes but also weeds which are growing rapidly to choke the river. Galamsey another one which has destroyed all the rivers in Ghana. I weep for Ghana, our leaders have ruined our country.

We cannot destroy the gift of nature and expect to have it back, if we do not change soon enough, we`ll start importing water in yellow gallons from China.

Our Forefathers were wise enough to have a bit of distance between the villages and the streams & rivers so as to protect this vital resource but with 21st century education and Technological advancement, we rather destroying all that Nature has given us so freely.

The local authorities are duty-bound to protect the natural resources in our communities. We cannot allow the sources of our rivers to be undermined by illegal prospectors and expect reliable flow of water.
Very soon, the Weija dam will start drying up as it is filled by the Densu.
In the meantime,the affected district assemblies and the ministry responsible for water should drill bore-holes in the areas experiencing the dry spell.
he assemblies could also collaborate with the recognized sand winners to dredge the choked river courses and carry the sand away.This measure would prepare the courses for the rains,prevent flooding when the rains come and increase the volume of water the rivers can retain.

The minister said geophysical studies are going to take place to dig wells. Do we really needs this study at this time when people are dying of good drinking water. Why not start digging the wells now?
