We live in a perfectly created world with a wonderful dynamics or life matrix. When you are fine tuned to what you have to be, you always enjoy peace and good health in that activity. But when you force yourself to become what you don’t have to be, alas! It will be like fetching water with basket. A toddler with a tea cup will be most honoured.

It's mind boggling the way and manner they manipulate Bible verses to suit their whims and enrich their pockets with monies from the poor. These days, you have people praying more and doing less because the Pastors call them at any time for worship and collect their hard earned monies from them. This doesn't bother Mr. Otabil. The millions of people who are lost because of falsehood in Christianity today doesn't bother him because he is one of them. Ghana needs to be liberated from false preachers who are using their intelligence to bamboozle the poor people. It is appropriate to encourage Ghanaians to demand for correction of whatever is going wrong with their Country. But to ask to take 'your Country back' is as insulting and bigoted as we often hear the racist Conservatives of the USA instigate against President Obama. We do not need some Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz in Ghana to change the Government for the better.

Who would Otabil and his cohorts be taking their Country back from? Such a demand presupposes that President Mahama and his Administrative clique, or the members of the NDC who support him are not Ghanaians, too.

Or, does Otabil secretly harbor xenophobic or tribalistic sentiments that suggest Ghana belongs to only his ethnic, tribal, religious, or political group? I vehemently abhor the use of such a phrase in Politics. Be it in Ghana or elsewhere. I have learnt a lot from the thinly veiled bigotry of the so-called Evangelical Ministries of the USA whose leadership and prominent members have been using such phraseology to subtly instigate their congregation against President Obama for his racial minority status.

Even in the most plausible alternative scenario where a few Ghanaians in the persons of President Mahama and his supporters might have held tightly to their control of the Nation, such verbiage would be hard to justify.

We surely cannot and should not allow any group of Citizens (or foreigners)to monopolize our Political Power and all its associated rights, especially when they misuse those rights to make the lives of others unbearable. Our Constitution does not allow that. So, it is quite appropriate to demand that the necessary methods of change be fully allowed to function. That is why we have the General Elections.

Therefore, if Otabil wants Political Power to shift from the hands of Mahama and the NDC to NPP or some other Party, all he has to do is encourage the Electorate to vote against the NDC and Mahama without any infusion of bigotry, ethnocentric divisiveness, or some exclusive Partisan claim to the Country.

Sometimes I wonder how such folks as Otabil could claim to be Christians and be so blatantly bigoted. There is surely room for righteous indignation against horrible mismanagement of the Country by the incumbent Political Party. But the way we have to change the situation is definitely not by splicing and dicing the Population on the basis of any group having some exclusive rights of ownership to the Country.

The problem with Ghana is Ghanaians DON"T LOVE Ghana. Within ICGC, we have doctors, lawyers, teachers, nurses, accountants and business people. Everyone one in Ghana is a BIGSHOT. Nobody attaches urgency to the job they are required to do. A nurse will prefer to read a bible at work rather than attending to emergency, and so is a doctor. The teacher has no love for his work and the kids he/she is teaching. Ghanaians want to be rich without working, students want to pass exams without studying. Our national psyche is all messed up. Churches don't help either because they are interested in building mega churches with so called pastors and bishops gallivanting the world to 'preach' the gospel. Pastors love the US, Europe but hate to preach in Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, South Sudan etc where the true work is. It's a cyclical mentality of 'dog eat dog'. Until we change and start loving Ghana, crooks will enter politics and play with our destiny!

When he reportedly incites people to take back their country from the state, I wonder which part of the constitution of Ghana is he looking at? A people's revolution to overthrow state control? I hope this report is not true otherwise, this is clearly unconstitutional and treasonable. Ghana is a constitutional multi-party democracy which has no room for a people's uprising to assume the reigns of power. If Pastor Otabil is interested in political power, the right thing for him to do is to join or form a political party and lobby to become their presidential candidate for Ghanaians to give him the mandate to rule. Anything to the contrary is worthless incitement because it won't work.

There must always be a meeting point. For instance, today education is becoming the preserve of the rich because, it is being hijacked by the private sector. Mission schools are charging exorbitant fees that the ordinary poor people cannot afford. The question is should we leave education sector in the hands of the private sector or the public sector. Private sectors are not charitable institutions but blood sucking ventures as compared to the so called incompetent charitable institution. Which one would you prefer?

Recently, the wife of the Founder of their own NDC party, Nana Konadu Rawlings was emphatic John Mahama's administration and gov't was the most incompetent she had ever witnessed and also, very corrupt. She said when the incompetence is there, it is in there.
A group from their own electoral world bank in the Volta region implored John Mahama to change his Vice Presidential candidate in the person of Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur because he was gargantuanly incompetent, and by extension his retention by John Mahama typified a President who was irredeemably incompetent based on that decision.
This is from the NDC party itself, their own NDC party.
So if Pastor Otabil says as Ghanaians, there should be a revolution to wrest Ghana from the hands of incompetence, what has he said wrong? Why insult him when he is stating the hard facts which is not lost on the NDC party itself? Or there is some level of amnesia amongst the NDC party people?

In every situation of the Israelites there was always a leader to steer the affairs of state, thus we had Moses, Joshua, Solomon the least list is endless. Rather than work to improve the financial situations of His staff members, he rather lambast the leader of the over 25 million company of incompetence. The statement "I am because we are, we are because I am" from Konadu Asare's A WOMAN IN HER PRIME, still resonates with conscious minds. Technological advances have planted in us seeds of Individualism whose product is selfishness - the intrinsic and extrinsic desire to posses for one's own interest. The pursuit of parochial interest has now taken a superimposed position over collective interest. This has rendered us solitudinarians looking miserably dull in our happiness. That is the folly of seeking a solely parochial interest. Back in the days when the television sets were difficult to posses, we enjoyed the champions league with friends gathered together with its attendant hot and heated arguments, final admission of bad game of the other side that lost, the unfairness in some of the referees' decisions etc etc. It was all fun to watch. The situation is not the same today. Giant flat screen televisions now seem to be acquired so coolly, making the favourite programmes including the leagues readily domesticated and attractively boring. This is what I am talking about. The collective joy we shared are no longer visible. Look at the political atmosphere in our dear country Ghana, the quest for individual possession has succeeded in wiping this important value of sharing. How many JHS graduates do you think have had to abandon their dreams of becoming people of substance in the future just because a headmaster somewhere decided to pile up needless books he couldn't afford ? Are you aware that millions of Ghanaian cedis go into found individual accounts yet, the thieves enjoy the luxury of being asked nicely to pay back the stolen monies by their own terms? Is not painful to work as a teacher serving the nation for over 35 years and you are paid 20,000.00 ghc as your retirement package, while a boy you taught and became an MP for only 4 years is paid 200,000ghc or more as ex-gratia? Nobody wants to share any longer, even the people who should manage our public purse. Perhaps, we should listen to Albert Einstein's advice "Try not to become just a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value " to learn a lesson. Thanks for reading my article.
