President incompetent –in-chief, may I remind you that even the cost of branding inter-cities buses with your pictures was so over quantified that your sector minister has to resign on this issue. Again, have too soon forgotten the bloated cost of construction Kumasi Airport runway?
The fact is your administration is noted for cost augmentation, especially on construction projects. Therefore, there is no beef if questions are being raised on projects undertaken by your administration

Man impregnates daughter, forces her to abort twice

Police in Obuasi in the Ashanti region have arrested a 45-year-old man for allegedly having sex with his 21-year old daughter.

The incestuous act was reported to the Obuasi Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) by the victim after she was beaten by her father, Efo Red.

DOVVSU Commander Togbui Adakpui confirmed the arrest to Adom News Wednesday, a day after the father was arrested.

Adom News’ Isaac Normenyo reports that checks revealed that the suspect has been repeatedly having sex with the 21-year old. It is believed that Red was responsible for her three pregnancies, two of which the victim was forced to abort.

“The victim refused to abort a third pregnancy which she is carrying now and that is why he beat her,” one neighbour told Normanyo.

It was when the victim refused to abort a third pregnancy that the suspect reportedly assaulted her.

According to neighbours the victim’s mother, who lives in Bolgatanga in the Upper East region, brought her to live with the father after the relationship broke down and the husband abandoned them for years.

The mother located Efo Red at Kwapia near Obuasi where he was living with his new wife. Soon after the arrival of the victim, Efo divorced his new.

According to the victim, she phoned her mother to lodge a complaint after her father assaulted her.

The DOVVSU Commander said a docket is being prepared to arraign Efo Red before court.

Why the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) should not handle this investigation?
Although, no fingers are being pointed to any direction experience confirms that investigation by BNI always seem to be tainted with political agenda (all parties are involved). Therefore, this Bureau which is not independent in it thinking should be excused from this investigation and let the Police with their seasoned career investigators handles this case?

We have since heard from people claiming the accused confessed to killing for hire but has changed his story even as the one and only obnoxious Kennedy Agyapong lays the murder at the doorsteps of the NDC. In my book there are reasons to blame every living here in Ghana for these senseless murders. We the voters have made it worth gold to be an MP in Ghana and made it worth the taking of life to get to parliament. This is one food for thought I leave for the NPP and NDC; show me a town/city/metropolis with near zero unemployment and I will show you a town/city/metropolis without crime.

It also appears that he talked to the police without the presence of an attorney, thereby throwing the whole case against him in limbo. In the US, an arrested person is Merandized, meaning he is advised of his rights to have attorney present when he talks to the police. I hope there's simple similar in to that in Ghana.

When I was a 19yr old I never thought about going out to steal let alone kill people for material things. Looking at the way he got into the building and stabbed his victim and then again the second time, it would not surprise me if he's taken part in other robberies in the country. This not the way a person who is hungry should act; it is more like "I'm here for what you took from me" literally. These young guys of today will stop at nothing(an MP tag is meaningless thanks to great education)to get what they want. They will kill anyone who stands in their way even rape women they come across in the process. They are inflicting unbearable pain on a lot of families. It should not be allowed to continue. Robbers whose activities lead to the death of victims (regardless of stature), bystanders or policemen who try to apprehend them should be executed if convicted. A look back at JJ's era tell us that these common criminals understand the language of violence. How many more deaths at the hands of these robbers do we need before we act?
This has been the cry of many Ghanaians who are living in fear. WHY????????????????????? It's time for our lawmakers to send a strong signal to those criminals that their murderous acts will no longer be tolerated!
