How can others trust the government of not trying to spy on opposition. This has made the opposition more alert. The opposition can trick the government. Ask any person studying Homeland security. This is one simple way to do it. Criminals register their phones in friends' names and allow them to keep the phone. Calls are received by their friends who send the phone to them to transact their businesses. It works.
If the government wants to pass a bill to "Spy" on the opposition, the government will be in opposition one day. MPs will not be MPs one day. The law would be used on them. The best thing done in spying is to just do it and have those spied on break some important rules before being arrested and prosecuted. Which country does not spy illegally? Developed countries spy most but know how to cleverly do it.

Because they are seeking for higher positions and are well registered by the service providers. Presently, people use mobile money to dupe innocent people if the sims are well registered with ID cards, these criminals identies would have been known. So parliament should work out for the national identification system first before coming out the communication bill

Don't we have more pressing issues in Ghana than to infringe upon the civil liberties of Ghanaians? My petty advice - before any phone is wiretapped, the security agencies must seek a court warrant, as is done in many civilized countries. This will lessen the likelihood for abuse of this spy bill by the authorities.
