Under President Mahama 7.5 million Gallon of water has been added to the National water distribution capacity. He has not only ended dumsor but has also fixed it permanently. A failed President can not do this.

The President never used poor unsuspecting citizens as evidence of massive transforming Ghana agenda. These are people who willingly agreed to seek as witness to the unsatisfactory NPP who are always complaining

Dr Bawumia said for example that a runway rehabilitation alone at Kumasi airport cost this country $23.8 million whereas a proposed airport at Ho is estimated at $25 million; and asked sarcastically, “was the runway in Kumasi paved with gold?”

He insisted that given the resources at its disposal, one should expect at least four times the quantum of investment that the NDC claims to have undertaken, saying, “The close to $30 billion of borrowing that was not used for projects could have been used for other critical sectors of the economy.

He mentioned the rail network from Accra to Paga, the water problems, energy, many major road projects in each region, transformation of agriculture particularly in the Northern Regions, Afram Plains and others through investment in machinery, irrigation and dams as some of the projects that the huge amount of money could have covered.

He also said the amount could have been used to build one world class hospital in each region, buy at least 1,000 ambulances, set up factories with the private sector across the country to add value to raw materials and create jobs, equip existing health and education institutions with state-of-the-art facilities as well as build an additional 600 of the Senior High Schools the government is currently trying to build.

According to Dr Bawumia, the reason why he insists the NDC government is attempting to hoodwink Ghanaians with claims of massive infrastructural investments is that “Most of these projects are over-priced as a result of the single source procurement method, which has become the procurement method of choice for this government, as we saw in the SADA, GYEEDA, Karpowership, SMARTTYS bus branding, etc.”

He articulated, “I would like to see for example explanation from the government quantity surveyors of the costing on the Kumasi airport runway for $23.8 million. However, you and I know that they would not explain because they cannot explain.”

He said all previous governments, especially the NPP, undertook infrastructural projects but the NDC is making it look like it has done what nobody did, saying, “The real fact is that the NDC has no real achievements to point to outside the undertaking of some projects; hence, their resort to mediocrity.”

Dr Bawumia also said infrastructural investment was not supposed to be for its own sake but to increase productivity and production in the economy. “If you have indeed undertaken massive and unprecedented infrastructural investment, then why is the economy collapsing?

“Why is the NHIS in trouble? Why is unemployment on the increase? Why are businesses collapsing? Why is agricultural growth stagnant? Why is manufacturing growth negative? Why is the government having difficulty meeting statutory payments? Why the high interest rates? Why the massive exchange rate depreciations? Why are the SADA guinea fowls flying to Burkina Faso? Why the massive increase in utility prices? Why the withdrawal of teacher and nursing training allowances? Why all this suffering in the land?” he asked.

The minority leader need to "be born again'' to be able to see how the President's presentation has positive effect on human rights, the economy, health and creation of employment. The president spoke with real evidence about, fiscal discipline even in an election year; expansion in the production of cocoa, coffee etc; massive infrastructural development in all sectors and districts; unprecendented expansion in educational and health facilities at all levels; improvement and expansion of the NHIS and other social protection programmes; etc. All the ingredients the minority leader claims must be included in a SONA are all there and more.
It should be clear to any fair observer now that, the NPP's main campaign strategy is to make noise and hope that, it will confuse the voters to vote for them. This strategy has already failed because, those who are benefitting from JDM's policy interventions are real people who will surely renew his mandate. The NPP's chances would have been brighter if they admit the udeniable good works of the president but show how they can do better.

Their claims that the President presented "untruths" is itself a blatant lie from the minority. The President today showed showed to Parliament evidence for every activity his government has embarked on. When the President said people benefited from LEAP he showed a physical evidence.

When the President said he had done the greatest expansion work ever on roads in Ghana, he showed all where specifically the roads are. He didn't just say it, he proved it. Hence i am surprised the Minority claim the President Presented Half truths.

"The President shall, at the beginning of each session of Parliament and before a dissolution of Parliament, deliver to Parliament a message on the state of the nation."

The president fulfilled that duty. He addressed the house, so why quote Article 67 to say he lied?

The man was supposed to appeared before you and address the house and he did exactly that but for some strange reasons we are being told by NPP that because the Constitution says he must appear and address the house and he did that, he has presented an untruth. What has article 67 got to do with truth or untruth?

2) The President shall report to Parliament at least once a year all the steps taken to ensure the realization of the policy objectives contained in this Chapter and, in particular, the realization of basic human rights, a healthy economy, the right to work, the right to good health care and the right to education.

Again, this article just spelt out a few areas that should be touched on. So my argument is, either the president was silent on these things (which you can't call untruth, because he never said anything about them) or he said something about them and you disagree with him. It is only in the later case that any sensible and rational being can say he/she disagrees with the facts presented by the president and therefore an untruth has been told by the president. It doesn't wield and lunatic to claim that because he did not say anything concerning these things, he has spoken untruth.

If you disagree with what you heard from him, just say so and stop quoting the constitution to prove that something said is true or not.

If you can't challenge the facts as presented by the president, then stop embarrassing yourselves with stupidity.

I keep saying that the kind of politics that the NPP is engaging in (the politics of whining and lies) will not win them the presidency. They have no inspirational message for the people and all they do is whine and complain about something. They never say what new they will do and how they are going to do it. They have no plans.
