This man talks like his brain does not function,do goro boys make their own passports for the people,is it not him and his people who take the money and prepare the passport for the goro boys,why will they be there if they don't have work to do,if you are not dealing with them.If you can give the passports to people without playing game with them to give you money before you prepare their passport nobody will deal with these goro boys,keeping the passports there without doing it because you have not been bribed is the reason why people go to the goro boys which is is quicker.

The most sensible thing for the Passport Office and its Director to do at this point in time is to legitimize the operations of the Goro boys and register them to continue performing the job they have been doing on behalf of the Passport Office and for the greatest benefit of the public.

Apart from a few cock-ups here and there, without the Goro Boys, it would have been practically impossible to acquire a Ghanaian passport ... well, unless you personally know the useless Minister of Foreign Affairs or the Director of Passports and any member of his staff.

Lets face it, the Passport Office is under-equipped and under-staffed. The Goro Boys are just filling the gap where the office cannot operate - at least, not to the convenience of the general public.

When I prensented my old passport which states that I am a doctor, I was asked to bring a letter to show that am a doctor from my workplace because Korle bu people bring letters Such nonsense make us use Goro. Because I dont know anybody there I come to join a line at 5am.

To naturally make goro-boys redundant, reduce the bureaucracy, decentralize the issuance of passports, give each applicant a maximum of 6 weeks (standard) and 3 weeks (express) within which the passport will be ready, increase the number of passport issuance offices, so that Accra may get not less than 10 different offices and each regional capital gets at least 3 different offices.

(Refer: In Germany, EVERY city has a passport issuance office, and depending on the population of the city, it may have as many as 8 offices! )

To obtain an international passport should be so was like buying pure , All you need to do is purchase a passport form fill it out and submit it to the authorities to get your passport huh easy said than done . People have applied over a year no show can you imagine people travel across Ghana seeking for a passport where else where you can obtain your passport at post office at least if they do it region by region it will easier for Ghana and when things are was to do done no one will involves boys infact the process so bad and people can cant follow it up that is why goro boys come's into the pictures .

These kinds of indecency are happening in the Country only because our so called Leaders in governments have stopped thinking. Most people sitting in certain offices that could be a resources generating points, have had the opportunity of living in the western world at least to enable them know how things are done in a different mood as to what is happening in Ghana. If people are put into positions of management, we expect to see directives of improving conditions and not just continuing with existing trends. Passport forms sales and collections of issued passports could be done in a more decent manner to generate revenue better than we see. Instead of ministers travelling around the world for foolish reasons not profitably to the nation, please bring into the country a few people qualified to train managements into developing their sectors, including the passport office directory.
