Donald Trump said that Africans need to be recolonized for another 100 years to enable them rule themselves like others do. After 59 years of independence, Ghanaians still have open pit latrines dotted all around their capital city and in market places where they buy food stuffs to cook and eat. Some of their citizens are even made by the system to carry shit in buckets on their heads to be dumped elsewhere near another person's home. Yet, we borrow and spend hundreds of millions of dollars to construct interchanges and flyovers to deceive gullible voters and tell the world that we have also arrived.

We celebrate because of the liberation from our European colonizers - abrofo - abrofo mean gangsters, oppression, detraction, imperialism, killers with the bible in front but hiding their swords behind them. Abrofo burnt down Kumasi Adum in 1900 - Triggering The Yaa Asantewaa War. Ashanti New town, Manhyia, Mbrom are all new developments. Abrofo killed the big three on 28 February, 1948 ....marching towards the castle. That's why we celebrate so that the youth will defend our heritage.

Most Northners build mansions at the South, put businesses at the South. How do you expect the North to develop? Some educated MPs from the North hardly visit there to acquaint themselves with what is going on there. They go there when it is election time and they want to be voted for.
Northners who are put in positions to help develop the North end up Squandering it. How do you bridge the gap. Let us be truthful to ourselves.
Chieftaincy disputes at the North turns violent and so much destruction is done. Something very little can spark ethnic war.I can talk about Bawku,Yendi, Kokomba/Nanumba and many more. The South have similar problems but they do not turn that violent. How much money and time is spent on keeping the peace at the North. People who are posted to the North always look for opportunities to move South. I am one of such people who moved South. There should be intensive education among Northners about the effects of wars in their communities.
Is Mahama aware that students still study under trees and they usually don't have school supplies? How do you bridge the gap when students still go to school and study on the bare floor. Mahama, you can make those promises but you are playing politics or dreaming.

Like, uk, Canada, usa etc. I believe u did compare ghana with the less endowed countries. Some of your perfect countries had their independence 100 of years ago. The problems some of these countries went through, we haven't a 1/10 of it. It's time you opened your eyes and mind from prejudices and tribalistic comment, that way, you will appreciate the fact that the sun spills out different colors, but went these colors superimposed, they form one brilliant and radiant ray which when shined on every tribe, creed, tongue, skin color etc, u realized that we are one people created in the image of God.

Do the maths of percentage of people who went to school of any kind. There was no Prempeh or Opoku Ware , St Louis or Yaa Asantewa. There were a handful of training colleges. There was a time one had to travel several miles to take the common entrance exams and "Hall". You guys have been SPOILT. Thank God for what you have and strive to build on it. This said gentlemen was suspended by the National Union OF Ghanaian Students for various unethical and wrong doings. He works as the Press and Information Officer of NPP Student wing and not that of Ghanaian students. He has brought the Union which is a non-partisan organization into disrespect with his latest deeds is an insult to all students .

All information coming from NUGS is signed by the President, but this statement lacks that. He acted as a lone wolf and this information can not be accepted as coming from NUGS. The content of his message is not only false but written for him by his pay masters who are in the New Patriotic Party.

Sorry to tell these our future leaders that with we have not fought for independence as at now and the little that they think is not good many of them will have been in the bush still covering thier private parts with leaves.
What we need as a nation is to give our best to build in unity and in a postive way. We should stop to be negative and and not ask what our country can do for us but what we can do for our country.
Been the young once they must stand up to work hard to build this nation with the education they are getting and try to be able to make use what they have learned so that they can creat jobs for themselves and others too.
Have the NUGS , not heard of drop outs creating jobs? So how come the African educated with degrees and them PHDS can't even crate a job for himself and for that matter be able to pay back to society so the society can build more school wher children will not sit on the bare floor and build schoolsso that thier brothers too will not study under tress as they see.

Why has NUGS been silent for so long? Around the world students have played a leading role in the fight against corruption, mismanagement, inefficiencies and other ills in their respective countries. It is your future so you have to take active role to put pressure on the government to spend our money sensibly instead of giving cars and cash to kings and other personalities, awarding contracts to friends and family members, politically motivated projects etc.

The president goes begging for money and handouts each time he is given the chance on foreign platform to talk. This is a big disgrace to a so called an independent country. Ghana's economy is foreign dependent and controlled. Where is the independence being celebrating year after year unending. Our political system is a complete importation of the American system not workable in Ghana. Where is our independence when Ghana imports almost everything needed. Is Ghana celebrating political independence or economic independence? Surely none of them. Cancel celebrating independence and use the money wasted judiciously or wisely.
