  Well said. But I'm afraid you miss the point. Violence can erupt anywhere by ordinary people who feel cheated and experience injustice, vigilante or no vigilante. Rather preach fairness and set your men to insist on justice.

  Ernesto, I wouldn't call you a fool but I think you are politically immatured. How on earth do you expect the police to call on a credible voters' register? Do you know the duties and responsibilities of the police under the constitution? It won't be long before you call on the Armed Forces to go on strike in support of a new voters register. And you call yourself a commander in chief of the youth. God have mercy on that youth.

  Mr. IGP, even though your importance and standing in the eyes of society may be enhanced by flexing your muscles and authority and by warning vigilante groups that you have no mercy towards them. It is great Mr. IGP of your 'no mercy for vigilante groups' attitude. Unfortunately and sadly, in Ghana, some politicians are used to giving orders to your men to arrest certain individuals they don't like or their political opponents without legal court order? Ghanaians are fed up with that kind of usurpation of power by politicians. It is about time Mr. IGP to flex your muscles and legal powers to let politicians know that they do not have any special legal authority to demand or cause an arrest of any person by a member of the police force without a court order or unless a commission of crime is in progress. Many a time, police officers turn to act on a politician order or demand for an arrest of a citizen without demanding of the politician a court order for the arrest.
  Mr. IGP, that is one shortcoming of your administration and I would hope that you would consider it seriously to educate your men regarding their right to challenge a politician order and to demand a court order before acting on an arrest order at the request by a politician absence of a commission of crime in progress.
