We the people of Volta region feel so insulted beyond pardon for the way NDC government has treated us. We have been taken for granted and treated as servants without brains to think. How much votes do we give to NPP yet they seem to be caring for us than NDC that we give them 98% every election. Must NPP bring the truth out before common roads in the region are constructed? JESUS CHRIST OF HEAVEN!! EVEN THE ASHANTES WE CLAIM NOT TO LIKE US AT LEAST RESPECT US AS PEOPLE WITH BRAINS. The NDC Governments make us feel worse insulted and treat us as people with no brains who will vote for NDC whether hungry, respected, maltreated or not. We will not make ourselves servants of NDC anymore. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. We will advise ourselves and stand up to be seen as the region that forms governments like the Greater Accra, Brong Ahafo, Western and Central. We feel sick that NDC has shortchanged us. We have received far less than we have given. No more will NDC see us people who accept anything than the other regions receive.

In 2008, there was a lively contest between the NPP and NDC to brand their parties after the 'phenomenal' wiz-kid Obama. While the NDC likened him to John Mahama, the NPP also claimed Obama was Bawumia. It is widely believed in some political circles that Obama's victory largely also helped in propelling NDC with their message of change. Now as fate would have it, we are in another election circle and the million dollar question is which of these two parties will want to lay claim to the front liner of the Republican Party, Donald Trump? It appears the NPP have developed cold feet to brand themselves Republican even though they have more in common with that party than with the Democratic Party. For the uninformed, the Democratic Party, also known as the Grand Old Party (GOP), is the Conservative Party of the US. Change is must be gradual, orderly, organic, and successional. There is a queue of the entitled leaders, who must wait their turn. The Republicans feel they own the country, and have very negative views of minorities, immigrants and especially blacks. They back the police and judicial system to deal with African Americans and other minorities in the most brutal treatment. The Democratic Party or the Party most sympathetic to minorities has produced an African American president, Obama, the son of an African immigrant. The NPP has too much in common with the Republican Party. Ghana belongs to them. All others are unfit to rule, especially, Northerners and Ewes. The Republicans tried very much to disenfranchise minorities in both 2008 and 2012, just as the NPP during the Supreme Court petition. Bawumia himself a member of the minority tribes is also the most useful tool in the hands of these 'supremacist' as he keeps on drumming up data upon data to justify their 'project of exclusiveness'. A purified Ghanaian electorate is a guarantee of an NPP victory in every election. The problem with the NPP is the personality of Donald Trump. He is against elitist, entitled, establishment politics of the Republican Party. he wants to overthrow the Established Path of Succession. No one should be foisted on the people because it is his turn. No coronation in the Party should be allowed because it is not a Kingdom. This is what would make Donald Trump mad at the NPP. In many other ways his hatred for minorities, women, the vulnerable and people with disabilities may mirror general NPP sentiments on the Ghanaian scene. However, what Obama meteoric rise deed for the NDC, Donald Trump's rise cannot do for the NPP. Which means both Mahama and Nana Addo must look elsewhere to brand themselves for the upcoming elections. The US provides no better choice for copy cats.
