There can be some natural resources but they have not been explored.The region can be poorer if they should attempt any break away because Eyadema would not want them. Besides, this is the time we are even encouraging unity so I am surprised to hear that such a group exists. It is not a possibility they can break away. they are and shall remain part of Ghana.

All these areas were part of the Gold Coast proper and so were not allowed to vote in the plebiscite of 1956, despite the fact that the separatist movt had spread to those areas too and people from there became key leaders.

Secondly they think that if succeed in seceding from Ghana they will be able to get their cousins in Togo to join them. They have been trying for a long time to get power in Togo but were thwarted by Eyadema and Co. Now that they have power in Ghana, they can put their age old plan into action. Don't underate them.

The Queen of England who gave us the independence and whose authority supervised the plebiscite is still alive and they can channel their decision through the British high commissioner in Ghana for the proper thing to be done. Why are their lawyers not helping them? Because Ghana gained her independence through her sons who were lawyers. Dr Nkrumah was brought down when the process was still on going and he was selected as the general secretary who later rebelled and formed his own party to continue.

The very basis for these folks to breakaway as first reported is massively legally flawed. No one forced their ancestors to join the Gold Coast to form Ghana. Nkrumah's leadership never coerced their predecessors. They were given clear options and they freely, voluntarily voted to join the Gold Coast.

If they have any emerging complaints thereafter that befit such a demand to break away, we have not seen them yet.

The idea that a chronic neglect of any part of the Country by series of Government should engender animosity among the residents is cogent. But the ideal solution does not necessarily lie in breaking away to become an independent entity.

The example of Eritrea must be a lesson to all of us. When Eritreans were deceived to choose separation from Ethiopia, leading to a long and brutal conflict taking thousands of lives, they eventually got their wise and achieved their own Nationhood. But, today, many Eritreans have unspoken regrets as they have been victims of their own Government's tyranny, brutality and corruption.

Eritrea has since deteriorated more than when it was part of Ethiopia. I therefore entreat the ordinary citizens of the area the separatists are claiming to unconditionally denounce and reject them and present any genuine complaints they have with the Government to the Parliament for appropriate legal redress.

I also admonish the Government to take the separatist noises seriously and swiftly move to resolve the crisis peacefully and lastingly before it gets out of hand.

United we stand, Ghana!!

Since these five member tilapia agitators started making noise over what is supposedly to become a country within a country, none of our prominent politicians including His Exellency President John Drammani Mahama and his good friend Nana Akuffo Addo are yet to issue any statements to the Ghanaian public. Matters of serious interest to the people are been ignored. Instead of our politicians to come clear and address the nation about these five disgruntled tilapia fishermen, s evil intentions to destabilise Ghana at a time that election is close to our doors, they are rather concentrating on votes. Both of these two men are hypocrites and that is why they cannot come out to tell us any sensible thing about these five dangerous men who are inciting hatred among the tribal groups in Ghana. Since the days we took over the reigns of power from British colonial rule, we have been living in peace and harmony with our Voltarian brothers and sisters without fear and persecution.

Ashantes, Fantes, Dagombas, Nzemas and all the rest of the tribes of Ghana forms the formidable " BLACK STARS ".
Gone are the days when we considered inter tribal marriages as an act of abomination and I can assure you that this locomotive ideology has now been declared a relic of the bygone age.

I personally as a Ghanaian find it colourful to see an Ewe girl married to an ashanti boy or a dagomba girl married to an Akuapim guy rather than getting married to foreigners. United we stand.

"DOGS EATING DOGS" Before the arrival of the missionaries who later turned to be mercenaries, there was nothing like demarcation until the partition of the entire Africa continent began. The French, the Englishmen and the Germans are to be held responsible for all these Togoland, Western Togoland, Ghana and others which is creating wars in Africa today. We lived and supported each other as one race irrespective of language barriers. Even though we had our own internal problems, we were able build our own empires and traded with each other. The Ewes and the Ashantes who today are the most two bitter enemies were one time good friends. The Ashantes who then supplied the Ewes with rats and in return received Keta school boys had no problem at all.The enmity of these two tribes began when the rats started deserting the Ashantes in search of greener pastures elsewhere in Bolgatanga but over there too, they met their Waterloo when the notherners spared not even a baby rat. The unhappy Ewes then decided to break all diplomatic ties with their Ashanti friends. The Ashantes then vowed never to allow any of their daughters to marry an Ayigbe man.

Enough is enough with your rats and and keta school boys politics ? Ghana need peace but not war. Imagine 15 years old boys and girls insulting Rawlings, Akuffo Addo, Mahama and Kuffuor. These men are old enough to be your grandfathers so please be very careful when making certain utterances. Democracy is not about abusing our parents and grandparents. The separatist group is right provided, it is not being fuelled by the crooks , nation wreckers n the divissive NPP.In any case, 70% of Ghana,s oil deposits lies in the bed of Keta basin with huge lay of hydrocarbons , according to GNPC seismic survey and also the fact that blocks are being sold now n exploration works began, this is the time for our independence.They have denied us the sumptious meal on the dinning table for far too long.
