What the hell do you mean that Mahama would STEAL ideas from Akuffo Addo, madam Koomson? Ghana cannot claim to be practicing “democracy”, but so afraid of many democratic principles that our leaders are making fools of themselves and democracy itself. Just check out the ff:

1) Why can’t the people elect their own Regional, Municipal, Metropolitan and District Chief Executives? If the people have sense enough to elect the president and MPs, then why not MMDCEs? Why appoint people to these positions in a democracy—government for, of, by & about the people?

2) Why not allow Ghanaians abroad to vote in national elections, whereby some far smaller and poorer African and Asian countries accord that right to their citizens living abroad?

3) Not allowing Ghanaians who have, by a dint of necessity and survival, acquired other countries’ citizenship to hold some positions, WHILE busy recruiting NON-GHANAIANS from abroad to COACH the Black Stars and to fill some so-called “expatriate positions in Ghana? Have our successive governments paid any attention to "Why foreign countries recruit football/soccer players from Africa and South America to play for them—with just a few months or years resident and work permits?” The point to the Negro is simple: If the players are good, JUST HIRE THEM TO PLAY FOR YOU and with Ghanaians abroad, if they're good in their respective fields, JUST HIRE THEM TO COME & HELP DEVELOP THE DAMN COUNTRY. After all, it is not America, Canada, Japan or the European countries that need expertise to develop, BUT WE AFRICANS.

**What the heck are our leaders afraid of?? To SPY for the adopted countries or what, Negro? Look, the CIA of America or the British Scotland Yard DOESN’T NEED US, so Ghana is wasting a great deal of skills and talent—just because of “skin-pain.”

Lastly, political DEBATES are good for democracy and if the Ghanaian people have been paying any attention to the United States' presidential primaries, they would notice that the Republicans have had as many as 12 debates and about 10 for the Democrats. When the winners are chosen from the primaries, then there would be several rounds of debates again. And we sit in Ghana and AFRAID TO HAVE POLITICAL DEBATES, because somebody would steal some ideas? WHAT IDEAS are working in Ghana, anyway??? Look at the roads, schools, hospitals, JOBS, housing, sanitation, Dumsor-Dumsor, etc. So, Madam Koomson, you’re out of vogue (fashion) with your village and old school suggestion!!!

It's therefore rubbish for the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency, Mavis Hawa Koomson to hold forth that the debate proposed by President John Mahama to challenge the 2016 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo is a ploy to steal ideas for his (Mahama's) campaign. It's quite unfortunate for a Member of Parliament to hold the opinion that debate between politicians of opposing political persuasion to put forth their ideas to better move our country forward is a ploy, and a forum for one leader to steal his counterpart's ideas. Mavis Hawa Koomson is perhaps the most ill-informed politician in Ghana.

Look at what mahama said about Hohoe? Look at the speed of projects now in the region and u will see the speed of these same projects in September, October. In the classroom they are good but I wonder why they are not able to transfer that logic to human life and politics ? But hardly can they be fully accepted by NPP untill they change. I wonder why non of their big professors and Doctors are not able to see that the Ewes are at risk as far as development in Ghana is concerned. Anyway noo wonder they want to break away from us. Ghana has 10 regions, NPP has 2 and NDC has 8. For NPP to do well and get some votes from some of the NDC regions, they have to show more inclusive ideas other than the tribal and divisive stuffs that, many times, are portrayed. NPP has members in the 8 NDC regions, of course. With independent and undecided voters, NPP always have to work hard in their campaigns before they win elections marginally. They have to do whatever it takes to add some regions to what they have and stop talking like this MP. If they take this advise they will be winning huge and not marginally.

Unfortunately they have problem dealing with inclusiveness. If you don't open up to welcome others, but harbor apprehension that they will share your royalties with you, you will always fight alone fight.

NPP is the party that has no ideas for the 2016 election.Things may not be perfect but Mahama is providing water, roads, and electricity for the people and even some so-called men of God don't like that. They are afraid the people we vote for the NDC as a result of the presidents good works.

When it comes to ideas, it is the NPP that is anaemic in that department. NPP is promising Zongo communities it will champion the learning of Arabic. Is this a developmental strategy or is just saying stupid things to win votes?

As the fish pants for water out of water so is Ghana panting for true leaders. Take it or leave it, politics as it stands is a contact sport and can get pretty intense. Akufo and Mahama should have a debate on camera for Ghanaians to make a choice for the next president.

Under Mahama, we have enjoyed peace and security as a result of reduction in crime rate as Mahama embarked on the biggest re-tooling of our security forces. Currently the Ghana has reached a police population ratio of 1:724.

Under Nana Addo as leader of the opposition party, 3 elected party executives have been suspended. There has been clashes between the party's own vigilante groups at the Party's headquarters resulting in the lost of property.

Let the debate happen and we will know who the true leader is.

This year the NPP has no policy to show and so their only option is to say they don't want their ideas to be stolen. If they really had plans for Ghana they will put it out already, besides Ghanaians know who said what first.

They should be made to understand that the NDC under Mahama does not need any new ideas to win election. We will only show Ghanaians what we have done so far. The roads we have constructed, the schools we built, the hospital we constructed and expanded. We don't have time for the ideas of Nana Addo.
