President and Government must be very careful with such pronouncements. Pre-university education must be an equal-level playing field, with both day and boarding institutions.
Should anything be FREE at all as per our constitution, it must be Free Tuition, Free Text books, Free Library and Computer Labs usage; Free electricity (for lighting classrooms); and Free potable water for drinking and toileting etc. (flushing). Those who want to board. lodge and feed must pay from the pockets of their parents and/or guardians. Even their water and electricity consumption must not be free. It must be on a "CASH & CARRY" basis.

The NPP in 2012 promised Ghanaians free education. When Nana Addo was asked how much free education will cost and how he will fund it. He couldn't provide the needed figures. That was when Mahama said that the free Education NPP is promising is not possible.

Mahama instead did what was mandated in the constitution, which stipulated that education should be made progressively free. So far Mahama has delivered as he promised and what the constitution required of him.

In last's year's election when the NPP were trying to deceive Ghanaians with their ''Free SHS" mantra. Mahama indicated that his government will focus on making Education progressively free and accessible which is different from that of the NPP.

so far Mahama has made education accessible with the provision of the 200 Community Day Senior Highs and progressively free by starting with students in the day schools. Is time we maintain Mahama as our President

You can't do it , you too much like political talks and it is making you looks a lair all the time to Ghanaians. You owe so much, you don't even know exactly how much you owe. You still make unnecessary promises which you know clearly you can not afford. This can never make you win elections unless you steal as the EC is also planning to do. Chaos is ahead of us if attempt is made.

Where ever Nkrumah(first President of Ghana) is today, i am certain that he will look down at us and be proud of the work Mahama has done in the educational sector.

Under Mahama we have a President who is building 200 Community Day Senior High Schools across the country. An action which will result in the admission of about 400,000 students who could have been out of school.

This gesture and his decision aimed at making education progressively free as enshrined in the 1992 constitution under the Directive Principle of State Policy will surely make Kwame Nkrumah happy.
