Dr. Bawumia pointed out that the NDC had increased Ghana’s debt in seven years by GHC90 billion, from GHC9.5 billion at the end of 2009 to some GHC99 billion currently; an equivalent of some 37 billion dollars at the time of borrowing.

“First, If you sum the cost of all the loan financed projects listed in the green book (even including those with artistic impressions, it is less than $7 billion. Meanwhile, the government has borrowed the equivalent of $37 billion so where is the rest of the money? Indeed, given the resources at its disposal one should expect at least four times the quantum of investment that the NDC claims to have undertaken”, Dr. Bawumia said, as he began listing the six reasons.

Dr. Bawumia proceeded to list a number of things the over 30billion dollars from borrowing the NDC cannot account for, could have done, which proves that contrary to the claims, the NDC has done a bad job at giving Ghanaians their due after undertaking unprecedented borrowing in the last seven years.

He is the CEO of Corruption Brigade - every money collected from the brochure contract had to be shared with Mahama and his cronies. A lot of things going on at the Presidency. the last time i went to bawku i didnt see any dev't going on. i was shocked with smallish rounded mud houses clustered all over. when we visited some homes i saw many kids and women eating and drinking from one calabash, i also realised each man had at least two wives, the saddest point was many innocent kids still had their nice faces cut with razors in what they called 'zampal'(tribal mark)

it's a shame a border town will remain as backward as bawku. i know bawku is habitted by different tribes but they should realise there're important things than their diffences in tribe and that are development and modernisation.

this issue of documentary is nothing to be described as 'recipe for war'. the leaders could have just spoken to the editor of the documentary to take note and avoid it next time.

even with peace you can't afford 3 ordinary meals a day and you talking of war just because of a documentary. allowing others more time than you blablabla.... OMG!

Am telling them, people have moved on with their lives, i don't care who's the chief in a town so long as i depend on my own hard work to live. we've moved from tribes to citizens of ghana and the world and the definition of one's hometown has shifted from the town of his tribe to where he was born and lives most of the times..

Harvest these days by the peasant farmers is low and level of education and standard of life dropping very fast. The people of Bawku should start using their energy and brain at innovative ways of feeding, wealth making, raising the standard of living and education, change almost 80% of the mud houses with leaking thatch roofs to join the global world. USA is strong because of acceptance of all people and views to the extent that Obama (half Kenyan, one quarter Jew and one quarter American) is the president and most powerful man in the world. If this tribal issue continue to consume the brains of people who are required to think, all the brainy folks will rot and the land will one day fall into the hands of people out of the Naa Gbewaa descendants through peaceful means by simply using their brains to legally acquire all the land and control all affairs including distortion of the true history. Throughout the world, history has always been distorted by authors and victors of war (Physical, economic or political). The Traditional Council, Bawku Naba or any dissenting party can create their own documentary and post it free on line or distribute it free if that is what they value most irrespective of the cost. They can produce about one hundred million copies and distribute to the whole of West Africa and even the world over. Lets think global in this globalized world. Even powerful America needs tiny Ghana to progress.

Once again, Thomas Abilla @ his mischievous best, misleading innocent, illitrate n happy go lucky canton chiefs(usurpers) in a fruitless attempt to claim a legacy that simply has no Kusasi linkage.
When growing up at school in the 50s we never read any literature or history about the Kusasi ethnic group descending from Naa Gbewa. Neither were we taught about the Kusasis originating from Bawku, or Pusiga, or even Ghana as a country. What we read and were taught was that the Kusasi ethnic group came from across the Ghanaian borders to the east of Bawku, from some three Upper Voltarian(Burkinabe) villages of Yuuga(Ayuug in the kusasi language), Zawga, and Biengo. These are kusasi villages with kusasi chiefs in present day Burkina Faso, just a few kilometres from Zebilla, and a walking distance from across the border town of Seibunde and Yongo near Zebilla. Therefore its completely strange to some of us born and bred in Bawku to be told in todays history that the kusasi tribe is another of the descendants of the legend of Naa Gbewa.
It becomes even more difficult to convince me about this latter day claim by kusasis when I realise that all the ethnic groups or descendants of Naa Gbewa celebrate the same festival of Damba with same dancing style and costume, but kusasis do the googi and jengo with very similar instruments, dancing style and custume to the ones worn and practiced in Burkina Faso. Same can be clearly observed from the dialects or accents spoken by kusasis and the other descendants of Naa Gbawa.
In any case, all this hullaballoo about kusasi presence at a garthering of descendants of Naa Gbewa and its after effects of accusations and counter accusations smells of some mischief, and of course rabble rousing by this needless press conference. The organisers of this press conference must be ashamed of themselves, having caught themselves pants down rather trying to fan ethnic conflict and chaos in Bawku. Thomas Abilla must bury his head in shame becos the chaos he and his chiefs(usurpers) are preaching will not bear any fruits becos the people of Bawku now know better than that. The people now know that having failed woefully to win a senseless tribal war in Bawku and claim the legacy, they are now resorting to a distortion of history which has equally miserably failed at birth.
The people of Pusiga are originally Moshies, descendants of the only daughter of Naa Gbewa who got bethrothed to an ancient powerful Moshie man and together they founded the legendary Moshie kingdom. Thats how come Moshies have very close ancestral relations and sometimes playmatism with Dagombas, Mamprusis and Nanumbas. It was not by accident that the people of Pusiga became the Shrines keepers of Naa Gbewas tumb.
Man is sick and tired of this monster captioned the kusaug kingdom. What a huge joke. Please Thomas Abilla must revisit his history lessons on the "Legends of Naa Gbewa".

Neither the political influence they used to be domestically unrecognized chiefs of bawku, can help make them descendants of naa Gbewaa nor the ignition of wars which they always loss,can make them descendants of naa gbewaa. It was a meeting of descendants of Naa Gbewaa and which they don't belong to. And it was only the Custodians of the Naa Gbewaa shrine at pusiga who was invited for their good work done at the shrine and they politically enskined Chief ceased that opportunity because the custodians of the shrine are kusasi too, to also send his delegates alongside there so as to portray themselves as descendants of naa gbewaa too. These people who are independent in their work and documentary by proving that the kusasis are not the Original chiefs of bawku but rather the Angry chiefs of bawku by addressing the mamprusis as chiefs. Thus ,if any kusasi disputes this fact,that they are not descendants of naa gbewaa and not the original chiefs of bawku but the Politically enskined Angry chiefs of bawku should prove it!!

How many tribes or towns did they conquer in their olden days, how many wars did they go during that time? Chieftaincy has become cheap because of so called educated, you see a professor fighting for a stool in his village and after being enthroned behave's like a king.An empire or a King can make a nation of its own and a king must have more than 40 paramountcies under him. I don't understand why these educated chiefs are trying to rewrite history and I have never liked them fighting to be chiefs because they are all corrupt. The uneducated royals are the main custodians of our stools and they must be giving the chance to rule because they know and understand the custom and traditions better and its hard to corrupt them since they do not have classmates to force them to accept things that are not useful to the people. Shame on chiefs who are educated and are supposed to be in the office to use their expertise to help build the nation but are chopping goats head and collecting V8s from governments. Our ancestral chiefs never compromised with any government because they had no classmates so they fought for the well being of the people not these lawyers who are chiefs and who collect cows to allow Fulanis to kill their people. Capturing a tribe was a peace process by the film makers. Is better for us all as Ghanaians to really see the truth n stand by it or they will never be a solution to this Bawku chieftaincy crisis. The writer's point of view is needless n only try to throw dust into readers eyes. Creating an impression that if Bawku will only have peace if one side is only happy or will forment troubles if feld the opposite.
