We are under economic shackles all because of NDC incompetent and corrupt government. We had eight years of NPP government and times were certainly better for us than we have found ourselves in under the seven years of GYEEDA,SUBAH,SADA,NSS and least of all Woyome stealling from us a whopping fifty one million.
The NDC and its head corruptible Mahama must give way to the NPP.
At least if I am poor but the sacrifice is giving all children in Ghana some free education then my sacrifice is worth it.

Let us be honest, do the BNI really have concerns about NPP trying to jeopardize the security of the nation or just using bullying tactics to silence the opposition. This kind of intimidation is rather inimical for the security of the country.
If you think you have a case let the courts have its role, but using this BNI as agents of suppression smells of bullying. Note that the opposition will never stay that way forever and when in power will play your tactics back to you. Let us scrap this BNI and use the normal police. And can we honestly make the police, army and CID the only agents of national security and make them devoid of political interference

I know what you are saying but the fundamental issue is Ghana has deliberately been screwed up and the institutions deliberately undermined and weakened so the leaders could have a field day with its resources unchecked, and unchallenged.

It's a sad sad thing that a lot of us did not see this coming with the drafting of the fourth republican constitution. That is where Ghana was screwed up.

If this Karpower ship contract and others were steamed roled through parliament , just like other loan agreements uninterogated then on what basis are you going to challenge this in court?

This loan , specifically Karpower, I can bet my bottom dollar , was entered into without merit because the powers that be were either seeking their personal interests or paid some amount of money to sign up to a contract that locked Ghana into financial encumbrances that do not make much economic or business sense . At the moment we can only speculate because the agreement remains secret until we can dig it up to interrogate it's terms and conditions.

After all signing up to extortionate loan agreements to procure goods and services is the most easiest and imprudent thing in economic governance a nations leaders can do . There is nothing creative about it.

If indeed Ghana was so desperate to generate power and needed to acquire power generation equipment , and if decision makers were honest and patriotic , and willing to seek the interests of Ghana and the welfare of its future generation,

wouldn't they have sat down and thought of a less expensive solution, I.e. resuscitation of the Osagyefo Power Barge for example at less costs?

A plant we already owned outright?

No they wouldn't and they didn't, because there may be no serious money to scheme off, with resuscitation this Osagyefo Barge.

So it will be left to rot, whilst we go and seek or more loans or borrowing some more extortionate monies at shylock rates, from a Turkish Bank, and Turkish Company, get their share and run into the wilderness.

Some of these loans and credit agreements our leaders have been making over the past few years do not make business or economic sense , but they have been approved by parliament.

Everything seems like Ghana and its citizens are being taken to the cleaners by the same people who should be protecting it's interests

. The other sad thing is the people at the helm make sure they do it legally, by subterfuge and skulduggery to get their personal share .

I doubt whether we shall be able to challenge them in the courts.

The President and his Ministers have a mandate according to our constitution to enter into economic agreements with foreign companies and entities.

The constitution never mentioned that such economic agreements or loans and credit agreements should have MERIT!!

Whether the agreements have economic merit or not is not the issue. The issue is , was it made legally?

If it was , who cares about its merits in the Ghanaian courts?

It's just sad that in this stern age , after our grand parents sacrificed for us to gain independence, we the most educated generation in the history of Ghana, finding ourselves at the helm , are hell bent on incapacitating the state and making it unviable as long as we can seek our personal interests.

It does not make sense but there we are!
