At times I don't understand NPP folks at all. They know the BNI crooks have no regard for the bail order. Why didnt they immediately file a notice of contempt with the court, but run their mouths for days telling the whole world what they intend to do? They did the same thing with the EC when it became obvious that the woman has no intention of replacing the flawed register. They could have gone to the court immediately last year to compel the EC to do the right thing. Instead, they delayed until the last minute before going to court with the issue. These security agencies are taking instructions from the NDC government and they will go at all lengths to intimidate and if possible eliminate the opposition one way or the other. Remember, they had no problem liquidating their own president in cold blood.

IF THE ISSUE ISN'T ON THE LAW BOOKS, THE COURTS HAVE FOLLOWED CUSTOM AND BEST PRACTICES AND IF THE SECURITY OF THE STATE IS AT STAKE, THE STATE ALWAYS GETS THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT AND BAIL HAS ALWAYS BEEN DENIED. IT HAPPENS HERE EVEN IN THE US. IN THE CIRCUMSTANCES, THESE GUYS WOULD'VE BEEN ARRESTED EVEN HERE IN THE US AND SUBJECTED TO SOME FORM OF ENHANCED INTERROGATION BEFORE THEIR FIRST COURT APPEARANCE. BY THE SECOND COURT APPEARANCE, THEY'D BE THINKING OF PLEADING GUILTY. WHATEVER IT IS, THE GAME WOULD BE OVER BY THE FOURTH! WHETHER YOU TRUST THE STATE APPARATUS OR NOT, you don't bring in foreigners to train ANYBODY in this type of security operations in ANY COUNTRY without going through the necessary protocols especially when South Africa has been the haven from which mercenaries have in the past been recruited by certain countries and individuals in collusion with local quislings to overthrow governments in "unfriendly" African countries. It also shows the caliber of persons we appoint into judgeship positions.What was she thinking? Even more bizzare were the bail conditions!

Ghana should remember the NORBISTOR affair in which during the PNDC era, a Western intelligence agency backed by its government recruited three South African mercenaries and in collusion with JH Mensah and co, bought tons of weapons and ammunition from certain South American countries in a plan to overthrow the government. A ship carrying the weapons, ammunition, other equipment and the mercenaries was supposed to dock offshore between Ada and Accra where the items would've been brought ashore by ordinary fishing vessels and distributed among the hundred or so soldiers they had counted on for the putsch. We somehow got to know the operation and were lying in wait for them when these instruments of death and their paymasters developed cold feet and called the operation off after learning that we had gotten hold of the details and were prepared to snuff the life out of it. That government and its intelligence agency of course denied the operation and abandoned its surrogates even before informing them about the cancellation of the operation. It's this same group of family and friends who are at it again. It's not by accident that this same group of people are the descendants of the bomb throwers during Kwame Nkrumah's time. The mistake the PNDC made was not allowing us to arrest and "deal with" even the families and associates of those involved as is done in other countries. Hence this problem. You can't be too ruthless for the peace and security of the state.

The way the NPP has gone about the issue and with my experience in security for over thirty years, I can assure you that these three people are MERCENARIES WHO MAY HAVE BEEN BROUGHT IN AS ADVANCED PARTY OF A LARGER FORCE OR TO TRAIN GHANAIANS TO CAUSE MAYHEM BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER THE ELECTIONS. Whatever the reason, it couldn’t have been in the interest of Ghana.Contrary to what NPP would make us believe,THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM IN THE SECURITY OF ANY EX-SOUTH AFRICAN PRESIDENT.

To those clueless but kind-hearted Ghanaians who worry about the treatment of these three South Africans, they should rest assured that these miscreants knew what would happen to them in any country if anything should go wrong. Our treatment has been soft so far. They should come and spend time here in New York Manhattan Detention Center under the circumstances they've been arrested and see if they wouldn't plead guilty immediately!

The government, without any fear, should take the necessary steps to remove this canker once and for all. No price is too heavy to pay for the peace in the country.

I personally served in the military with some of the NPP adherents who may be behind this issue including Kofi Koda, the so-called security capo of Akuffo-Addo's. They're cowards who have the propensity of fomenting trouble, collecting their pay-outs and running away for others to bear the brunt of any repercussions. It's the same Kofi Koda who robbed certain Ghanaians of monies and was subsequently jailed by the AFRC in 1979 only to escape from the Usher Fort and abscond to the UK with the help of some "insiders." I know when the screws are tightened on them, they'll squeal like pigs and sing like canaries.

Stupid, corrupt and useless people like Blay, Awuku, Boadu and Buabeng who supported Honest Afoko's ouster because he was bringing transparency into the Party's financial management, would say anything to malign the security agencies but the agencies should be resolute in their pursuit of these nation-wreckers and ruthless with the wrongdoers. The quiet response from the South African government should tell you that their arrested citizens were up to no good.

Flashback: Why did Kufuor sack Francis Poku over a security breach?

In January, 2008, former President John Agyekum Kufuor got ‘mad’ with his security capo Francis Poku. He disgracefully sacked him to the surprise of the security community and persons within and outside his government.

Spin doctors led by Oboshie Sai-Coffie, used all sorts of manipulative subterfuge to deliberately justify what appeared to be an ‘irrational decision’ by Kufuor. So many reasons were provided to justify Poku’s dismissal.

However, for security capos, it was obvious that Kufuor was livid that Mr. Poku had breached his government’s security by sponsoring an operative for training in Israel without his knowledge.

Checks by concerned Security Analysts revealed that Kufuor got scared upon learning that one Brigadier-General Robert Sackey, then Head of the Military Intelligence had been sent by Francis Poku on a training program in Israel. Further checks revealed that General Sackey had attended a National Security and Strategic Studies Seminar organized by the Galilee International Management Institute in Israel.

It was obvious Kufuor was scared to learn that General Sackey was trained in a program handled by Israeli Experts such as Brigadier- General (Rtd) Lipid, Colonel (Ret.) Yehezkeally, Colonel Caspi, Dr. Brigadier-General Ben-Ari, Professor Ben-Dor, and Captain (Navy) Keiman.

What was Kufuor’s reaction to what seemed to be an effort to train a fellow Ghanaian in Israel? On that fateful day, in January 2008, the national security boss’s house was surrounded by hordes of sharp shooters under the joint command of General J.B Danquah and IGP Patrick Kwarteng Acheampong, under the guise of dragging him to a safe house for debriefing.

It was reported that Francis Poku had also rebuffed Kufuor’s decision and threatened a shootout if any attempt was made to arrest him. That created a dangerous tinderbox!

There was a tense moment which was only diffused by the bravery of Kwesi Pratt Jnr, Editor of the Insight Newspaper and Owula Mangortey, a Traditionalist from Shai-Osudoku, who armed with only their telephones and loud mouths evaded watchful eyes of the security cordon to enter Poku’s residence where they raised an alarm on radio stations.

So if an experienced leader like Kufuor frowns on a training program in Israel to the extent of risking the sacking of his security capo, Francis Poku, why will Nana Akufo-Addo and the leadership of the NPP want to compromise the security of Ghana by inviting South African mercenaries to train their NPP apparatchiks in guerilla warfare without the prior knowledge of Government?

The very simple questions which Security Analysts are asking in the wake of the NPP’s invitation of South African Storm troopers to train the NPP apparatchiks:

• If Kufuor saw the serious implications of training General Sackey in Israel, why will Ghanaians countenance the current NPP leaders’ invitation to South African Troopers to train NPP apparatchiks?

• Should Kufuor not come out like a true Statesman to condemn the actions of the NPP leadership and school them on the serious potential breach to National Security by this irresponsible training program contracted by the NPP and its leader, Akufo-Addo?

• Should Ghanaians not be very concerned with the serious implications of having documents detailing the operations of the Electoral Commission’s contractor STL, in the possession of the South Africans?

• It will be recalled that the EC contracted the STL to transmit collated results to the EC during the 2012 elections. So for what reasons were the South Africans in possession of the profiles of past and present STL workers?

• Do the South Africans intend to compromise /manipulate STL workers to NPP’s advantage in the upcoming November, 2016 elections?

• Some speak about diplomatic row, but would South Africa have looked on if the scenario was reversed?

Security Analysts will urge Ghanaians not to reduce the discussion on the NPP-sponsored security training to one of protection of Akufo-Addo, Bawumia and other NPP VIPs. The Government must be thorough in getting to the bottom of this matter. After all, national security is key to government operations to ensure its continued existence. Ghana’s national security interests override the whims of the NPP political leaders. There is a high expectation of proper management and proper leadership in handling these security matters.

It all begun in 2012 when the most prominent court of the land, the SUPREME COURT, failed to prove to all Ghanaians that the tremendous power it wields is only mandatory on the field of equality and justice. The so called JUDGES are yet to explain to Ghanaians why they were able to recognize some abnormalities in the 2012 election and therefore charged the EC to ensure the right thing is done and yet disregard NPP'S Petitions. Thanks to Anass and his company for putting the nation in the light of the Judges capabilities. Now as a result of their favoritism in judgment no electoral results will be taken to court ever again in the history of our country. They were expected to leave a legacy for all the generations to follow after to be able to solve any similar problem which may happen in the future rather than going for war.
Lets consider the now politicized GHANA POLICE SERVICE(GPS). Their reactions in some cases especially what happened to the Let My Vote Count Alliance, when their peaceful demonstration ended up with many suffering severe injuries even to the point of loosing their sight is very evident that the GPS is being remotely controlled by the president to execute his PLANS.
And currently the BNI. How could they defy the High Court's orders if there's no SUPER DICTATOR behind it. They have not disregarded the orders of any ordinary citizen but a court. So are the judges going to remain silence now that their main power of office is defied. Will they now join Manama and NDC in their quest to detain these ex- SA cops in the police custody while the court has already granted their bails. When did such a thing happen in the history of this country.
I'm now very excited that the NPP has realized that the NATIONAL SECURITY which is now politicized is no longer trustworthy and is therefore finding their own means but legal to ensure their own security and that of their supporters.
