NPP campaign strategy of harping repeatedly that, Ghana is in a deep crisis of all sorts and that this crisis will vanish only and only if their tin-god becomes president, is impotent. It is as if Nana Akufo Addo has a magic wand that will solve all problems of life overnight. Perhaps if the NPP had not been in government before, one would have been deceived believing that, they are supermen. From 2001 to 2009 when the NPP was in power, how the previous NDC government had ''totally destroyed" the economy was their sing-song. They declared Ghana hipc and throughout Kufuor's first term, they never undertook any development projects. In his second term, and with debts forgiven hipc toilets became projects they gloried in.
Anyone can predict their mode of operation when the unlikely happens and the NPP returns in 2017. The sing-song will be how NDC has completely destroyed the country and because of this, development projects will be stopped. To justify themselves, they will move heaven and earth to imprison past government as if they have made a coup de tat. The confusion presently in the NPP will be translated into the country and the peace we are enjoying will be severely threatened. However, they will glory in the numerous ongoing NDC projects that will be completed. If Ghana has collapsed, why are they declaring all-die-be-die to rule it?
The development deficit is huge and that is why Ghanaians love development projects; that is the only way to indiscriminately change lives for the better. Ghanaians love their peace and security. The massive development undertaken or being undertaken under President Mahama even in his first term is unprecedented. He has completed several of them already and several are still ongoing and he will surely be mandated to see their completion and to initiate many more. President Mahama has proved his ability to work with all even if they don't support him. He is the right man for the job. It is because of how excellent he is that is why the NPP are under pressure to promise heaven without caring how it will be done.

Here is another message President Mahama, apparently, made at my home town, Sokpoe, Volta Region. This time it is themed for vote getting. Development plans must not be predicated on generating votes. It is the equivalent of feeding citizens with crap from the dinner table and in no way does it mitigate hunger.
Ghana needs a long term, realistic strategic plan for each municipality. I would have expected the President to task the people and the District Assembly to engage in vigorous examination of the needs of each village and to consider various solutions to them. With the active support and participation of the people, the government can form partnership with each locality to address its needs.
Why would president Mahama propose a health compound at Sogakofe? Sogakofe has a regional hospital. There is also Komboni, a missionary run hospital. Its villages like Sokpoe, Vume, Tefle, etc that require health posts to deal with first line intervention. It would be responsible for the government/district assembly/ village to engage the youth in constructing such facilities; to sponsor youth to go on to health schools to eventually staff these facilities; to develop a group of volunteers who would work closely with the health centers. Planning requires ideas, not election year baits. What purpose do such gimmicks serve? Vote driven promises are just what they are. They are never well thought out and they are wasteful.
A caveat: The opposing parties have faltered and not shown any threading at all. They are sunk in ineptitude. How would Mr. Addo lead the nation when he cannot even raise his head above the haze of confusing clouds that overwhelm his opposing party? Are we living in an interregnum, a negation of power and order?
Leadership in a nation, especially a fledgling democracy, is critical.

Under NDC Voltarians now have water. Their roads are being constructed and they enjoying Peace and security.

These are things the NPP can not give them. Under NPP Voltarians were a target. They arrested Tsatsu Tsikata and several ewes.

Mahama has never taken the Volta Region for granted. Infact he has done more for the region than what any President would have. Since day one he has recognize the need to invest in the Volta Region which is evident in the developmental projects in the region.

Go to the Volta Region and thanks to Mahama they now have a University. The President has constructed some of the community day schools in the region like the Volo Senior High School. The road in Afloa which has been neglected for a long time has been constructed.

Volta Regions own the NDC and under Mahama they see the party as a good wife. Come November 7th Voltarians will vote for the NDC.
