If they need more time, it is the perogative of the judge to grant that. As ceo of gh and the person ultimately responsible for running the bni, mahama must ensure an instituition whose primary purpose is to ensure the laws of the land is respected does not disregard legal rulings with such impunity.

In the first place, Rawlings' TREASON-PRONE group called AFRC/P/NDC should have been BANNED from metamorphosing into a PARTY in a democracy, and its leaders PUNISHED in order to DISCOURAGE such barbarism. That group and ALL the people who support it have NO RESPECT for RULE of LAW. The NDC has a terrible violent history: statues of honourable judges infront of the building of Ghana's Highest Court attest to that violent past against Ghanaians and the state.

To this day, Rawlings the architect of this systemic violence is shielded by law against prosecution. What this means is that FLt Lt RAWLINGS has committed serious TREASONABLE and MURDEROUS CRIMES against Ghana and Ghanaians, but the law has given him a and his AFRC/P/NDC a reprieve or exception, even though it's widely believed that the LAW IS NO RESPECTER OF A PERSON or institution. This behaviour is counterproductive: NDC apologists think, just like Rawlings is walking freely even though he's a criminal, they can at anytime act contrary to the law with impunity as well.

Rawlings' and Boakye Gyan's disrespect of the rule of law reflect the barbaric behaviour of the so called BNI which has usurped the authority of Ghana Police Service and the court of law.

If a state institution disrespects our constitution with impunity by ignoring a ruling of a competent court of law, it sets a very WRONG precedent for the body politic and "democracy". The bigger picture is that, should this disrespect becomes the "norm" for the general population, the outcome is CHAOS, CONFLICT and on a wider scale, WAR. The so called BNI is NOT above the law that brought that institution itself into being. This is a commonsense that even the most notorious IDIOT on earth would not dispute.

NDC should IMMEDIATELY cease to act like a MILITARY regime it EVOLVED from, otherwise it's seriously treading on a WAR path. This kind of nonsense where some people and institutions who have been delegated some "power" by our CONSTITUTION or LAW in order for our democracy to function, begin to think they are the POWER unto themselves and therefore NOT accountable to anybody, CAN NOT be tolerated in our democracy.

Ghana is ready for democracy and rule of law, where EVERYBODY and every INSTITUTION are ACCOUNTABLE to the LAW OF THE LAND. As soon as certain institutions and people begin to act as if they are above the law, who then has the moral cum legal authority to ring citizens to order when the latter breaks the law?

Taking them to the court of law means BNI knows that the court has the AUTHORITY to exercise judgement which EVERYONE MUST abide by even if one DISAGREES. Why should the court registrer keep the men as well as their pasports? Normally, they should be remanded in police/BNI cells untill the the bail conditions are met. But the judge did not follow this system and that made the BNI to sense rat and tok the men away. BNI are thinking about the national security while NPP are out to cover their dubious acts.

The concept of check and balance is not operating in our institution so we have a long way to go. Our politicians way of dealing with the problem is by abuse or insult. Half way democracy is not better than military rule. Mama once said that we are in democratic era so he can not force Mr W to vomit such an amount so Court will deal with case.Hmmm, why then should BNI not obey the law. Attempts to defend the indefensible in this matter by various people over the past days have been shameful.
The BNI should be allowed the free hand to handle this matter. The bail process adopted by the court should be investigated by the CJ to determine if the proper thing was done. Remember that the South African High Commission in Accra has already washed off their hands on the grounds that the matter is purely a criminal case. That's a very reasonable posture adopted by them.
