It is only the wise man among the NPP Captain Effah Dartey who said something reasonable and of great importance concerning the SA 3 ex police mercenaries' presence in Ghana in relation to their assigned duties for the NPP.

He stated emphatically with great sense of rationality that the timing of their presence to train people for the NPP is wrong because of the election that is to take place and the psychological and physical tension that prevail everywhere, it is due to this that every wise person in Ghana can see the wisdom in that comments from Effah Dartey.

This makes him exceptionally a great man of wisdom who never foolishly said NPP did the right thing, and that rather it is the NDC that played the dangerous propaganda as the foolish journalist Baako has painted to the outside world.

God bless the wise in Ghana who study our national situations and comment as expected due to our nation's wish for unity and not the wish of tribal and political bigotry that the NPP projects foolishly and ignorantly for their selfish gains.

Kweku Baako is the most unreliable senior Journalist among his peers. He is deeply politically biased against the NDC Administration, not necessarily based on the Government's performance, and would never do anything to give it credit, even if due. He has never been fair to the incumbent Administration in his analyses. So, his stand on this issue of the South African Mercenaries and Akufo-Addo's private Militia must not surprise anyone.

I am not saying this as a supporter of the NDC or the President but as a true Ghanaian patriot. In all honesty, no rational, truly patriotic Ghanaian would endorse the very underlying activity that brought the South Africans into Ghana in the first place.

The very fact that Akufo-Addo and his myopic and paranoid pseudo-patriots would form a private Militia in secret without any prior approval from the State Authorities for whatever reason constitutes a breach of our Laws, and should hollow out any claim that the NPP Flagbearer is a peaceful leader who means no harm. And for that reason, every decent and honest Ghanaian ought to be alarmed by that activity involving the South Africans, and see Malik Kweku Baako's Article as a devious distraction from reality.

I would also say that the Government might have let the South Africans go without any drawn-out prosecution for any variety of reasons. But that should not be misconstrued that the Government could never have made a case against the South Africans and the Akufo-Addo cabal that invited them over for their suspiciously dangerous activities.

Our Security Agencies were 100% correct in apprehending the Mercenaries, and the Government could be right, and within its authority to send them away without full prosecution.

The further detention of the South Africans by the Security Agencies after the Court's ruling for their Bail, is also not necessarily against the Constitution, or the National interest. Our Security Agencies in certain levels of operation are allowed to detain suspects beyond the normal prescriptions of the Courts. It is the Security Agencies job to calibrate the level of danger a suspect poses to the Nation at any particular point in time. Not the Court.

The Court's decision could also be flawed with respect to the level of danger the Security Agencies detected with the Mercenaries at that period of the incident. And until the Security Agencies had done all they needed to close any backdoor for that danger to leak through, they could always justify extending their hold on the Mercenaries.

Our Courts have the tendency to undermine the Government's best efforts in many cases for undercurrent political reasons. The case of Woyome's freeing is one such case to support that reasoning on the Courts' behavior, even though there is a likelihood of the Government wishing for his total freedom. A show of a Ghanaian partisan Judge standing up to a Government to uphold the human rights of a suspect is a common behavior to undermine a sitting Government. Our folks must not overlook that aspect of our System. A case that may be spun to sound so simple may not be that simple at all. And one side or another could easily manipulate the facts in an attempt to win Public support. In this case, the facts are clear for all to see. And we shouldn't allow such spin to stand and divert our attention from the danger Akufo-Addo with his "Yen Akanfo de...'All die be die..'.." motto poses to Ghana.

Malik Kweku Baako, we have to admit, is a personal friend of Akufo-Addo's, despite the fact that many associate both with different Political Parties and ideologies...Baako, a CPP (on the surface, at least), Akufo-Addo, a NPP.

We have to also remember that Baako has always had a bone to pick with the Rawlings-created NDC, mostly for the fact that Rawlings overthrew Liman's PNP, which was an incarnation of the CPP of which Kweku Baako was a bona fide supporter.

Between the NPP and NDC, therefore, Kweku Baako would always choose the former, even if the NDC could perform perfectly as a Government of Ghana.

Coming back to the Militia formation by the Akufo-Addo and his cabal, I would encourage Kweku Baako to tell Ghanaians how much of his own research revealed as to who really was behind that group, if he vouches for the innocence of Akufo-Addo in it, even after Akomeah, the NPP Communications Director, had taken to the Media to claim the group was formed to provide protection to Akufo-Addo and the NPP?

How does Mr. Baako justify the formation of such a group by the same folks who had vehemently vilified the former National Organizer of the NDC, Yaw Boateng Gyan, for even contemplating the same idea in the exclusive interest of the NDC,--something on which those folks managed to pull a majority national view, including mine, of course, in its favor?

How does Kweku Baako justify the formation of any such Militia to protect Akufo-Addo, under the current conditions, while the NPP Flagbearer and his antecedents in the UP/NLM Opposition to Dr. Nkrumah, had used the formation of a Presidential Guard by the late President, even under more exigent circumstances, as part of their reasons to overthrow the late President's Regime?

I think Malik Kweku Baako would rather have all of us retain a short memory so that his egoistic claim to superior knowledge of whatever goes on in Ghana would sell his Paper and earn him some special honor in Ghanaian Journalism.

But many of us who have similar background as he does, both in age, and experience in Ghana's political History, would not be so easily duped by his self-serving analyses.

If Malik Kweku Baako thinks the formation of the Militia and the importation of foreign Mercenaries make Ghana safer than what the Government did to curtail the activities that the Militia was engaging in, then he should have his mind examined. Period.

One does not have to be a NDC supporter or against Akufo-Addo to concede the truth which runs contrary to the misinformation the craftily-schemed winner of the NPP Presidential candidacy and his network of entrenched advocates of his 'All die be die..' motto are ramming down our throats.

Enough of this moronic spin to bleach out the diabolic intentions of the Akufo-Addo faction of the NPP. All these explain why that faction was hell-bent to get rid of Afoko, Kwabena Agyepong and others, real patriots and no-nonsense honest leaders in NPP, from managing the Party.

Ghanaians must therefore be very vigilant, and think beyond the Elections to fully make up their minds on the fate of this Nation so that we don't hand it to a few violent-prone, selfish pseudo-patriots to the detriment of the country and all others.
