I can bet my last Cedi that she was not even a registered NDC member but her name was probably smuggled into the membership list when she decided to run as a parliamentary candidate.

What is looking funny and frustrating in this episode is the reluctance of the girl and the parents to see that this is a big public disgrace to them and the NDC which for years talked about accountability, probity, justice, transparency.

But for the vigilance of Nii Armah Ashietey, Johnson Asiedu Nketia would have taken the good people of Klottey Korle for a song in his election rigging ways. The modus operandi of the NDC in terms of rigging elections is unraveling on every front as Ghanaians become more and more vigilant. No wonder John Mahama signed of on the "dress rehearsal program" of beatings, violence, chaos and mayhem rolled out during the Talensi by-election as one of the main features to appropriate the mandate of Ghanaians through force, violence, intimidation and beatings.

At this stage if she has any sense of decency she must quietly withdraw from the contest with humility and plan her next entry into the political arena from Anlo land where his dad hails from. I would have liked Zanetor to become an MP more than anyone. I really like her posture with regards to implementing change, fresh ideas, pushing a positive agenda which will make lives easier. Her medical background and connections to power brokers would really help her constituency and Ghana at large. However I am a strong believer in the same thing that her father believed in, which prompted the uprising that brought him to power (RULE OF LAW). This cannot and should not be subverted and if he Rawlings doesn't ask his daughter to step down and wait till she has followed due process (THE LAW) then I sincerely believe that he former President Rawlings is a fake, selfish and irresponsible leader that should never be listened to. NDC went with the right assumption that a person of her stature with her family background would have done the needed so there was no reason to ask. I accept that NDC didn't air. But to then ask for this to be settled in house is unfair of law abiding aspirants who have done the right thing and followed the law to the letter. Any underhanded way to take their rights away is a direct attack on the law and should and cannot be accepted in our dear country.

If Ezanetor did not meet the criteria set, whether the question had been asked or not, she is disqualified. When Spio-Garbrah was nominated for ministerial appointment and was found by Parliament that he was not a registered voter at the time and thus did not qualify, he was withdrawn. JJ then gave him an ambassadorial appointment. The NDC party gurus deliberately did it to appease the founder but it should not stand otherwise the party and the Rawlingses would have no further moral right to talk of probity and accountability. The same way JJ taught this very girl how to fly and handed her a state aircraft when she was underage. This must stop and NDC must stop it.

It is indeed true that the Executive could have not asked whether or not she is a registered voter bearing in mind the fact that such questions were not part of the criteria they used in conducting the vetting.

The NDC is not like the NPP who will break a rule all because they want a candidate to win. We all remember how the NPP used two voters register in the just ended primary elections.

Hardly do we have the executive of a political party admit that they have erred in a decision. This is a clear indication of political maturity. Again the steps taken to resolve the impasse is one which must also be encourage and emulated by all political parties in Ghana.

It is clear that our democracy is protected and safe under the current government and party. They are not like the others who will tell their party members to bring coffins and to resign if they want an impasse within the party to be settled.
