If Mahama had listened to the many warnings from people like myself about how security had collapsed in Ghana there wouldn't be mass panic in the country right now.We have been screaming at the top of our lungs for years for the governments to attend to some of the gaping security holes in the country but Mahama opted to patronize footballers instead.The Ivorians security forces responding to the attack in their country showered that at least they had been seriously preparing for this and other challenges.They were lean,young,disciplined and professional and their locally made equipment(troop carriers)are easy to maintained and cheap to replace.If Mahama cannot take our security seriously then what is his use?

Yes, all are alert across the globe over this very clear and present danger and Ghanaians shouldn't be any different. Mahama is being naive to blame the national security over their alert message to all Ghanaians to be wary of terrorist attack. When terrorists strike, it has no bounds.Cote d'Ivoire was aware of the possible attack and prepared but it took them by surprise. Mahama should be the first person to wary but by his posture, he is not security conscious at all or may be his security capos are not advising him well.

If they did, you would find out that it was done with good intentions. Someone in your shallow setup thought that -- as he has been schooled -- causing panic is part of good propaganda. Hitler did it -- by lying to the German people that the Jews were mobilizing the world financial system to punish the Germans and reduce them to penury (in fulfilment of the terms of the Versailles Treaty).

Stalin did it by lying to the Soviet people that the capitalist countries wanted to crush the socialist system so that socialism would not be able to spread into other countries.

When you place extraordinary reliance on propaganda, everything becomes seen through the lenses of "possible propaganda advantage". You sowed the seed by employing inferior communist tactics against your opponents. And now it is coming home to roost.

Because of propaganda, Ghana's enemies now know what your intelligence agencies believe. They know where your suspicions lie and they will do their utmost to avoid carrying out operations that fall into that category. They will do things that will surprise your intelligence agencies.

And all because of your addiction to propaganda. You should be impeached for compromising national security with pathetic, inefficient propaganda.

My biggest surety in the era of terror alert is that you have retooled the security service with modern resources and so when there is an attack, the appropriate response will be deployed.
