According to the world standard of how an economy is termed as being in crisis, anytime your debt to GDP ratio is 69% and above, the economy is heading into crisis and our debt to GDP ratio now is 72% so we are definitely in the crisis economy zone.

What is President Mahamah understanding of an economy in crisis?

1. An economy with more than 30% unemployment rate is an economy in crisis.

2. An economy that government cannot pay some of it's workers for six months because of lack of funds is in crisis.

3. A 30 billion economy with more than 25 billion debt portfolio translating to 72% of debt to GDP ratio is in crisis.

4. An economy without sustainable energy supply and dependant to the dictates of Nigeria for gas supply is in crisis.

5. An economy with 19.2% inflation rate when inflation at the time you assumed office was 18.2% and still going up is in crisis. The previous administration reduced inflation from 42% to 18.2% in just eight years.

6. An economy with based on natural resources with declining agriculture and minerals production and reduction of prices for your products is in crisis.

7. An economy with an unstable currency that has lost about 25% of its value in just one year is in crisis.

All the above and more persist in Ghana and Mahama is denying the economy is not in crisis? This man is living in a lala land.

This submission of yours is neither here nor there. Government has put several measures in place to deal with the unemployment ratio in the country. Youth in agriculture programme is offering a lot of job opportunities to the youth. The YES initiative is equally providing financial support to youth who wants to set up their own businesses. The Komenda sugar factory when completed is expected to provide over 1000 direct jobs. The president is really doing a lot in terms of job creation and deserves commendation.
The country's energy crisis has been resolved as the president has been a ble to add a total of about 800MW to the national grid.

You mentioned Linens sugar factory and Youth in Employment as being Mahama's solution to the chronic unemployment problems in Ghana. An economy that needs a creation of at least 120,000 jobs every year need more than Linens sugar factory. The government alone cannot provide these jobs. It just has to create an environment conducive for private companies to create jobs. The five years energy Ghana went through made many companies to collapse and more than 20,000 jobs lost so your one thousand Komenda sugar factory job is not the solution.

Secondly Ghana energy problems is not due to shortage of Megawatts but rather our inability to fuel and gas the existing power plants due to finances.

My submission is loaded with facts intelligent people can debate on with intelligent counter arguments but saying it is neither here or there without taking each one and disapproving it shows the depth of your mental capacity.

initiative only had10m gh as seed money. After taking out running costs how much of it will be left to distribute as capital and offer training to our young entrepreneurs.
Private investors cannot plan financially nor operationally as inflation, exchange rate, interest rate and Dumsor have created a high degree of uncertainty for anyone to know what will happen next week let alone 5 years.
It's sad to say but mahama is clueless, the people he appoints are even worse.

Taxes on pharmaceutical product for instance have been reduced drastically by the president. Salaries have been increased by 10% across board. JM deserves a second mandate.

He misapplied tax payers monies by engaging in massive vote buying, resulting in the huge deficits. Ghana has never recovered ever since. The problem we have in Ghana is that many citizens who benefited from formal education are very dishonest and unpatriotic. They will support evil as long as it's their source of income. How can any honest person claim that this country is not in crisis? Almost every economic indicator points to a crisis situation. Government cannot meet its statutory financial obligations, there are huge areas everywhere, all ministries, departments and agencies are starving financially. You cannot borrow from our banks because of the interest rates are suicidal. Farmers are suffering, NHIS is on its knees and the people are feeling the effects everywhere, many graduates are unemployed, there's corruption everywhere, armed robbery on the ascendancy. Please don't insult our intelligence.

Mr. President, you are conflating growth with development. The figures you quoted are indicators of "growth" and not necessarily "development." There could be growth without development; there could be development without growth; there could be concurrent growth and development.

Let me explain:

Growth are just statistical benchmarks on economic progression. These benchmarks translate into development when the products of growth translate into increasing welfare of the people, not just the few, politically-connected and imbecile thieves. That will be Potemkin growth.

And there could be development without growth when equitable distribution translate into rising living standards. Ghana is far from that.

May be, you are living in the bubble of wealth so you do not feel the strain of poverty affecting most Ghanaians.

Come back wiser the next time around.

He is building so many health institutions across the country- he recently commisined state of the art district hospital at Dodowa. 200 new SHS is also being constructed across the country of which several have been commissoned already.

It is embarrassing and an embarrassment when the record is very clear on the state of the economy and the NPP has intelligently and competently given very good erudite readings of our economy to be described as akin to an oracle or a soothsayer? Ghanaians are aware John Dramani Mahama is desperate but he should not compound it and make it worse by making such embarrassing comments and gaffes. It is unfortunate and very sad. Debt to GDP just today according to the IMF is predicted to be at 74% far above the conventional mark for high debt distress with growth trending towards negative from an average high of over 8% at the end of the 8 years of the NPP without the added benefit of astronomical loans and oil revenues to a receding and retrogressing growth of on average about 3.5-3.7% at the end of 8 years of the NDC govt led by John Dramani Mahama. These are the facts. One cannot make these up. Inflation is inching up and nearly clipping the 20% barrier. The sane members of their NDC party must advice John Mahama not to embarrass himself in this manner, because it is not nice. No amount of desperation should make him do that and engage in that kind of conduct. It is completely needless.

I cannot be happy with Mahama Government having seen a brother sacked from a public institution for being vocal against corruption needlessly killing patients.The sacking of the young medical practitioner by the Director General Ebenezah Appiah Denkyira on tribal and political grounds in less than a month as DG attest to the wanton corruption in public institutions.The bad aspect of it is the AG Department is conniving to cover the GHS as a government organization when it is well aware the DG acted irresponsibly and irrational in an extremely corrupt and illegal manner.The doctor's sacking was provoked by a heartless corrupt act in which a patient by name Patience Sakpetey widely captured in traditional and social media was denied blood transfusion and died in the process because relatives could not afford an illegal fee of Gh.C50 cedis.The Medical Superintendent who astonishingly blamed the young doctor initially expelled him at the level of the regional hospital in connivance with the Regional Health Directorate.The young doctor took his case to CHRAJ,western region and won compelling him to reinstate him.The Medical Director was also compelled to produce a copy of his medical report hidden for years after compelling him to go for psychiatry assessment a number of times.The report favored the young doctor the callous medical director Dr.Paul K Ntodi sort to victimized.It concluded the young practitioner did not have any problem but authorities should be fair in their dealings with him.The incensed Dr.Ntodi at a management meeting vowed to get the doctor sacked by the GHS if he does not leave the hospital.Alas,he indeed succeeded in connivance with the Regional Director Linda Vanotoo that saw the GHS dismissed the doctor on grounds he refused to have compulsory assessment and treatment for what the GHS termed 'possible delusional disorder'.The doctor ever since have been out of job since December 2012 sacked from work through and indefinite suspension on grounds that he is suffering a 'possible delusional disorder' when the Constitution and Labour Act is clear on the right of every Ghanaian to work and earn a living.Worse still is the fact that the DG's act was obviously to victimize and persecute an anti-corruption voice to cover drenching rot in Effia Nkwanta Hospital.This is a case in which one would have expected that the AG Department launch straight investigations into.Astonishingly they are conniving to frustrate and suppress the young practitioner's case at the Human Rights Court to cover the rot in GHS under Dr.Appiah Denkyira.The government chief lawyer is invariably coming to the defense of a corrupt public institution under a corrupt head at the behest of government in the midst of glaring corruption and incompetence in an important public institution like the GHS.Invariably when structures and systems fail to function as a mandated by governance,it will translate as a failure on the part of government headed by the president.This case currently at the Human Rights Court with potential judgement debt the AG is avoiding is because the DG did not take responsibility of investigating the Management of Effia Nkwanta into the bribery scandal of a paltry 50 ghana cedis that denied a teenager blood transfusion eventually killing her despite asking for the patient's folder at headquarters following the media hullabaloo.He rather sort to persecute and victimize the young practitioner on duty that night by sacking him in support of cronies in the region clearly on political and tribal grounds since the Medical Superintendent often attacked the young doctor as a northerner and NDC sympathizer reporting him to bigwigs in Accra.That irony and paradox of it is that Alban Bagbin current Majority Leader than Health Minister was deeply involved in the cruel dismissal of the young practitioner,his own brother from the upper west region with letters directly copied to him when he knew the facts on the grounds bothered on corruption with documents detailing corruption in that hospital at hand.The president may not be privy to this and may not be aware of have a well oiled government driven propaganda machinery masterminded by some top government functionaries including Bagbin to paint the doctor black and cover the truth in the midst of callous,heartless,dubious and illegal action targeted at destroying the young doctor's future.Evidence on the ground suggest the self centered Alban Bagbin have been a master at identifying and destroying potential and youthful talent in the upper west region.The young man moves to court to seek redress and people in corridors of power link to the seat of governance gag all avenues to frustrate and punish him further.To add insults to wounds they use their wealth and power to get people to abuse,harass and insult him in public places as somebody who is arrogant and talks too much after 2 unsuccessful attempts on his live that saw him write to the IGP for police inquiry into his case that fell on deaf ears all because of powers that be.In a nutshell governance is about a people not an individual.It is not just about a people but people with a high sense of patriotism and nationalism ready to sacrifice and die for a nation damn political colors or affiliations.When corruption and incompetence is preached,it is because the citizenry is corrupt and incompetent in holding politicians accountable because governance is about the people.When corruption and incompetence is talked about,it is because public institutions who are supposed to help in the process of governance are suffering chronic paralysis and failure under equally incompetent and corrupt hands.I know political leadership,commitment and will is imperative in successful governance but we the citizenry should grow above ethnic prejudice,religious prejudice,nepotism and cronyism particularly in public institutions that are supposed to be the catalyst of governance.Above all, we should be apolitical,competent and incorruptible ourselves to be able to effectively hold politicians accountable.We should be bold and objective to say the truth without fear or favour.To be fair to the Mahama Government,it is doing well in terms of infrastructural development and management of the economy.International indices from the IMF and World Bank show that unless they are deliberately misleading us.What is lacking is the political will and commitment to fight corruption largely endemic in the country.A good measure of his governance is that various infrastructural developments are popping up all over the country but people who embezzle huge amounts of public funds are walking around free when majority think they should have been prosecuted and jailed.My brother's personal experience of being a victim of corruption for speaking out against corruption,with the AG Department as the Chief Lawyer of government ganging up to cover heinous corruption of such magnitude to protect the GHS simply because it involves top civil servants and government functionaries leaves much to be desired.This election will certainly be about the economy management and corruption and any discerning,objective,eligible voter will keep an eye on these to make a choice.Between now and November 7th we will get to know if the economy is well managed and corruption properly tackled to make a choice.

When not lying about the economy being in turmoil, they're busy raising false alarms on security issues.
