My late mother was the wife of chief of Gbungbalaga near Yendi and thus was a Royal too. The youth who came to give the Royal gun salute did not in any way threatened the peace in Yendi. The funeral occasion was well attended by both the Andani and Abudu gate Royals and many other good citizens of Dagbon. The funeral rites was rather an opportunity to unite the two Royal families. The uncalled for intervention was a total blunder and misuse of official authority. The funeral environment was full of women cooking TZ, children and grandchildren celebrating. I appreciate the the presence of the forces in Yendi to maintain pesce. However when the municipal secirity comes out with a regulation, ot must apply to all and not bias
There were recent funerals on Yendi with gun firing without such interventions. It is to noyr the location of mother's funeral house was adjacent to the Yendi Police station and the police did not see the continued gathering of people for nearly five days with drumming and dancing both day and night did not find it a threat to peace. Why did police not be the first group of force to intervene in civilian environment but instead the military.? The norm is if police cannot quell a chaotic environment, then the call for help from the army. If this straight forward administrative strategy cannot be followed then it is your guess to still find the Yendi situation hopeless. I wish the soldiers on hospital speedy recovery....Issah Bukari

Your evil thoughts against Abudus did not triumph and you are now trying to fabricate stories to avoid being queried to the cause of the incident.Was that the first gunshots at funerals? Was the funeral not close to the police station and why was the police not acted rather the soldiers? To my candid thought the soldiers were bought to cause mayhem at the funeral should the powerful warriors resisted. In as much as you the MCE has that evil thought against we the Abudus we pray that an opportunity of what has happened recur and then that we show you and your hired boys that we posses the power to fight only that we are not wishing that but if persuasion fails force has to be applied.
