If ECG can get the needed resources to be expand and ensure better service. There will need to privatise the company. So far, the guys at the ECG are interested in their jobs than ECG doing well.

But I don't think anybody will turn off the light and sit in darkness, but will make sure rooms that are not in use will have thier lights switched off etc. We are privatisation is the best because the current useless ECG still have Ghana in the dark ages. We need to enter into the era where we have constant power, people paying their bills to attract investors and development

The problem with ECG seems to be one of corruption, inefficient administration & management of resources. For example, the ECG is owed billions of Cedis from large institutions, firms and wealthy individuals that have been outstanding for several years. For those that argue that privatisation is a good thing or the way forward. Please provide examples where privatisation of state assets have been successful.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, State Assets were privatised which resulted with individuals becoming Billionaires but not improvement in services. In the U.K. privatisation has resulted with higher consumer bills and not improvement in services. For example, the privatisation of National Rail, British Telecom, British Gas etc.
Personally, I believe that efforts should be focused on improving the administration & management structures of ECG and eliminating corruption rather than selling another State Asset. I have yet to find evidence of privatisation working anywhere in the World.

You CAN NOT privatize a state project and still have it hold the monopoly it's always enjoyed.
It should be an open market operation (OMO)for power so consumers could be at the benefactors
