The fish processing company which is currently under construction in Elmina will also provide more job opportunities to people in the region.
dont forget those governemnt projects like the 200 new SHS and the roads are being constructed by Ghanaians which means they are making money as a result of those projects.

Mahama put money in his brother's pocket by forcing a sell off the bank his brother owed money to, so why is it different when it comes to the rest of the population. I am being facetious here. So once you get the freebies -- land, seeds etc., he is talking about then how do you get the line of credit to hire your employees? Especially if you don't have access to the "Ghana free money" he and his cronies steal?

Dumsor was a national issue and in existence b4 JM assumed office. the most important issue now is that, he has been able to salvage the situation by mobilizing resources to add a total of about 800MW to the national grid and now businesses are flourishing as a result of stable power supply. Without political lense, you would agree that JM deserves commendation for fixing the power crisis!

If we were a civilized nation, by now Mahama would be serving jail term for the numerous corruption scandals.
Who in his right sense will make the infantile comments Mahama made? Dumsor has crippled the economy for four years, iagriculture is declining at an alarming rate, unemployment is rising, utility tariffs are causing extreme hardship for people, interest rate is so high that businesses can't borrow and you talk about a flourishing economy. The cost of living is rising everyday. NHIS has collapsed and people are paying more for health care, there's no more allowance for student nurses and teachers so parents are paying burdened more. These are the main issues, not this useless propaganda Mahama is doing. Obviously the radio presenter doesn't have the balls to ask these simple bread and butter issues.

Mr. Nana Simpson, I tend to side with you on a lot of issues raised in your early comments about telling the truth of what our President said or is doing. On issues of dumsor, do you know it is resurfacing?, the point is that the current intervention to savage the problem is not sustainable, why because our source of fuel is dependent on someone's willingness to give us at a cost. Also we are on the trajectory of implementing strategies enshrined in the energy policies about commitment in promoting alternative energy sources which are reliable and sustainable such as wind and solar. Although the initiative taken by the NDC government to savage the dumsor issue is commendable, but this should be seen as a short term one and not a long time. NDC needs to have a long term interventions where there will be much integrated energy mix in the country so that the dumsor don't resurface. Thanks for this piece of advice.

I won't insult the president but I can't fault people for insulting him either, because our Constitution gives so much power and immunity to the president that no citizen can hold him accountable for his many negative acts. If we were a civilized nation, by now Mahama would be serving jail term for the numerous corruption scandals. The only way left for citizens is insults.
Clearly Mahama doesn't understand governance.

Anything about the economy and the inter-linkages and the fundamentals you are wasting your time because he is so out of his depths and totally clueless with a team with a very strong oenchabt and very high affinity for looting and thievery.
This lethal and toxic combination of factors being cluelessness and looting and thievery is a sure guarantee of an unmitigated economic disaster and everybody is witnesses to this catastrophic state of affairs with unemployment, one of the consequences and casualties of such conduct and actions, galloping gallantly to the farthest reaches of the stratosphere. Now you don't reward such recklessness in govt, you completely obliterate such a system and restore sanity into the governance and development process by massively voting John Mahama and his family and friends looting and clueless brigade out, pronto.

The people accept that and are even afraid to ask for accountability because they surround themselves with macho men who can take your live through mysterious ways.

Mr President, no where did you mention in your ranting that the people said you are going round counting money and putting them in the pockets of others and that they (your critics) are left out. Stop fooling yourself and your do nothing party members. If indeed the economy is good, majority of the people will feel it in their pockets. Your critics are not asking you to go round to put free money in their pockets. When opportunities exist Ghanaians know where they are, and they will take advantage of them; and they will thus feel it in their pockets. No Ghanaian will be stupid to think and act the way you characterize them. They never did that even under Nkrumah's Socialist/one-party state, when every creature in Ghana was presumed to be the property of Nkrumah. They found a way to work hard to survive without waiting for him and his party to go round to put money in their pockets. So was the case under Rawlings' brutal regime. Perhaps, you are doing that for your cronies. And if that disturbs you because the people have found out, be bold to admit it, and quit doing that. Take care of every one, okay.

I wonder why some Ghanaians are still not seeing why we should vote this government out of office. It is written "woe unto any man who calls bad good" The economy is not working under this government. People are following this government based on tribalism not on issues, otherwise, I don't think the good people of Ghana will vote for this government again. For example, you cannot vote for a government because of basic infrastructure which is the duty of evry government to provide. The government is using tax payers money to do these things and then chop our money. Can't we see what is happening? They always come and lie to us to vote for them becuase they theyou think we are stupid. The government has succeeded in making some Ghanaians believe that government is doing them a favor for providing only infrastructure for them. As JJ said "Are we so stupid". We must change our thinking andeep vote the government out. As I mentioned earlier, it is the duty of every government to provide these things, but we must think about how they spend our money on all those projects and judge the government based on how tax payers money is being spent, and we will know if it is a problem of incompetence or not. We must be wise and think about the economy first. I remember when Kufour was talking about getting oil in Ghana, our brothers in NDC said it was a palm oil in Parliament, and they were joking about it, but today we have oil. Why hasn't petrol price reduced yet to match the oil price on the international market. And we don't see anything wrong. What has the government done to build the economy instead of just making life too difficult for everybody? Let's be honest to ourselves and not follow blindly. This is why some countries are doing better than others. It all about good management our resources and leadership. God Bless Ghana.

It will be herculean task preaching hard work and productivity among the Ghanaian youth assuming without admitting indeed the economy is booming. As a young man i cannot but conclude endemic corruption with the corruption canker eating up everybody at every nuke and cranny is to be blamed on the laziness among Ghanaian youth. You cannot however entirely blame the youth because corrupt and irresponsible adults without moral ethics and integrity are literally teaching the youth how to quickly amass wealth through short circuit corruption and illegalities. It will be extremely difficult to encourage the contemporary Ghanaian youth to make wealth through hard work because a certain impression have been created and strongly held by the youth that corruption and illegalities is a legitimate way of wealth generation and economic empowerment.Crass corruption with impunity and display of filthy, illegal opulence have become an accepted norm and culture in Ghana today. The youth glorify and adore it because adults who are supposed to live by example in upholding moral standards in this country have legitimatize filthy wealth through illegalities and corruption. The youth of today have become so much accustomed to short circuit illegalities that guarantee rapid aggressive wealth acquisition within the shortest possible time by automation, glorify acts of illegalities as 'smartness' as they put it.Idle and lousy youth at large have become the toast of society admired by peers because they are living a comfortable life with immense wealth acquired mainly through corrupt and scandalous deals and other forms of criminality.Lapses in the system that encourage organize looting and sharing guarantees quick wealth for no work done. The culture of organized looting and sharing that ensures quick wealth is very much reflective in Ghana's public institutions. In civil service today, all that some young people do is to serve as informants giving intelligence reports to the corrupt head of a public institution or government organization as part of the corruption syndicate that will then be employed to outwit and embezzle public funds to be shared. These favourite sons of the corrupt head of public institutions are usually the untouchables who come to work and close within 15 minutes or chose to idle and snoop around or refused to report to work for weeks or month despite on government pay role.At the end of the day they are still far wealthier and comfortable than hard working, dedicated ones because a lot more money is made through illegalities as part of the corruption syndicate in public institutions. As a matter of fact attitude to work, pervasive corruption, nepotism and cronyism is contributing significantly to Ghana's economic slump and woes because institutional failure and inefficiency. In Ghana's public institution today high attrition rate involved mainly the hard working dedicated ones who cannot be part of the corruption syndicate or resist corruption or illegalities in public institutions usually linked to high profile civil servants and government functionaries under whose direct supervision the corruption canker is festering at a rapid rate. This has contributed significantly to the slump in public sector performance and therefore the economy why because we now have idle, incompetent, corrupt and irresponsible top civil servants whose sole objective is to employ mechanisms to manipulate and exploit the system instead of serving a national course often walk of free because of ties to the corridor of powers in key government functionaries. There are indeed cases of high profile corruption and illegalities tentatively covered by the AG Department who go to the extent of suppressing such cases in high court when aggrieved individuals resort to court action for justice. You cannot have a situation where the government through the AG circumvent justice to cover top public officers on cases bothering on corruption and preach fighting corruption. The general laziness and apathy to work in public institutions as a result of drenching endemic corruption is generally reflective of the attitude of the youth in Ghana today who believe in short circuit measures through corruption and criminality that guarantee riches within the shortest possible time rather than hard work.A lot of people including expert are bitterly complaining about a slump in Ghana's agricultural sector. In my candid opinion one of the problems have to do with departure from the past in which the youth from the northern sector including secondary school and university graduates troop to south in numbers to work on cocoa farms and other farm fields. It is no more the case because corruption generally have paved the way for illicit businesses such as drug trafficking, sakawa, smuggling and white collar theft that guarantee instant wealth in the shortest possible time. From where i stand the youth of Ghana have by far lost its sense of patriotism and nationalism because corruption with impunity is an accepted norm institutionalized and culturalized.Until there is a paradigm shift that encourage and reward dedicated hard working youth but dissuade corruption and illegalities,we will have very few youth ready to come out with business innovation that will ensure economic empowerment in the interest of self and nation.Ghana as a country can go places if priority is placed on checking corruption and illegalities. That requires a lot of political will and commitment. In my candid opinion, the president may be doing his best but one of the things he must do to cement his legacy is to be ruthlessly aggressive in the fight against corruption rather than take a passive stance. For example the AG department have no business suppressing cases in the Human Rights Court bothering on crass corruption, illegality and gross abuse of one rights though an illegal dismissal just because the victim was an anti-corruption voice as part of his patriotic duties simply to cover top civil servants with ties to the corridors of power and to avoid a needless judgement debt.I do admit most of these illegalities may not be privy to the president as a person.Nevertheless,it is imperative the president move to the ground himself to have first hand knowledge of some of these iniquities that are blemished by the time they get to him by people who have their personal agenda.
