Maame Esi please let's put politics aside, this is a life and death issue. Most of these can't be trusted with patient's lives. They are academically depleted. There are all there old nursing sisters who have not upgraded their skills for decades and still carry notes they have 20 years ago teaching these nurses. No research no update. My sister the world is moving forward and we are at a standstill. Do you know western nurses have to always prove they have had some form of upgrade or a course to be able to renew their licence every 3 years? And basic and advance life support is mandatory every year. Ask a whole matron in medical bloke to perform a CPR and your guess is as good as mine. Have you asked yourself how many lives would have been saved if these nurse are competent. We have advocated for this since 1983 group C28 and these old women kicked against

Mr Ekow, your ignorance is legendary. If ministry of education is training Doctors why cant the train nurses? Am sure u are not aware that all the medical schools in Ghana are under the ministry of education.

This proposal is disingenuous because MoH is not the ministry with training institutions. Notable is the Ministry of Agriculture among others. Rethink the proposal because tutors are professionals from parent Ministries.
