There was near pandemonium and confusion at the Annual Global African Investment Forum held in Westminster, Central London after a heated exchange between Ghana’s President John Mahama and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo degenerated into open insults.This was due to General Obasanjo openly accusing the Ghanaian president and his government of blackmailing and collecting bribes from Nigerian businessmen in Ghana, buying numerous properties in Nigeria and South Africa and financially contributing 12 million dollars to Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign last year. This infuriated President Mahama who lost his temper and pointing his finger, called General Obasanjo an ” idiot” and a “silly buffoon”.It took other ministers present as well as Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to calm tempers and usher President Mahama to a nearby room. The forum, which takes place from 1st to 3rd December is attended by African Heads of States, Ministers, Private equity firms and investors to discuss opportunities for investment and development in African Economies.

This Charlotte Osei should be told in plain language that she has lost her way. Six months to parliamentary and presidential elections and her priority is branding EC by introducing this useless new logo. This plagiarised logo has nothing Ghanaian in it. The old EC logo has the the state emblem or coat of arms in it.
Moreover, there is no unifying in the new logo and in fact, the old logo was more unifying as Ghanaians were connected to it by the national emblem of coat of arms.
I am not against change but this seems to be change for the sake of change and nothing else. How much is she spending on re-branding the EC instead of using the resources of the commission judiciously? This is complete waste of scarce resources.
Charlotte Osei should tell the Ghanaian tax payer, who commissioned the logo, how was it commissioned, who designed it and how much did it cost?

We need to accept the EC's interpretation of the logo; and move on to more weightier & relevant issues like ensuring that we have violent free elections, fair & credible elections that would self as example to all of Africa.
As it is you Mr. Ata is fueling those who have been battling the EC since the departure of Dr. Atari Gyan. Your views in no way, shape or form should appear to aid & abette the opposition.
Those who lost the 2012 general elections are of the opinion that the current EC is manipulating this forthcoming elections to end up in the defeat of the NPP. Dr. Afari Gyan and Charlotte Osei are no different, in their misguided view.

The new EC logo will fail in all areas of plagiarism as well copy right or intellectual property laws. The two are very similar to the extent that you can hardly tear them apart.
Have you read Mrs Charlotte Osei's response to plagiarism allegation? She used the word "mine". Does that mean she designed the logo or does the logo belong to her? Does she think that the EC belongs to her? She is just arrogant. This whole re-branding of the EC is about her and the logo is about her taking control over the EC. She should remember that she is only the Chair of the EC and must work with the other Commissioners as well as the management team. There is no word like "I" in a team.

In exercising your freedom, you see all the hardwork JDM is doing in stabilizing the economy, unifying and upholding the peace and security of the country, fighting corruption practically and massively developing infrastructure in all sectors of the economy and across the entire country without discrimination to be destroying the future of Ghana. Many others see it differently as rather laying a solid foundation for the rapid expansion of the economy. On November 7, an overwhelming majority of Ghanaian voters will demonstrate this by renewing JDM 's mandate.

The EC is a national institution and does not belong to those who administer its affairs. Those who administer affairs do not have free reign to re-design and adopt logos that do away with the national coat of arms. It should be a national wish to do so; otherwise where lies the authority?
Being independent, refers to not yielding to corrupting pressure but that does not mean that the EC is free to ignore public views, wherever it comes from. All views should be considered and the only way to assert independence is to explain actions and to act transparently.

This is not a logo. logo is a shortened version of LOGOTYPE, eg MOBIL, TEXACO EXXON etc. What has been presented is a combination mark. It is not a logo.

The logo is uninspiring and devoid of the dignity that the previous one bore. Even the mere colors of the new logo portends darkness and uncertainty. Just scrap it and bring the old one back!
If the EC believes that all we need is for its cleansing of the Register, and not its total replacement, then we do not need any new logo for it.
