I could be ignorant but I'm wondering how the circle represent unity,may be somebody can explain better,the independence of the commission makes sense, I thought about it but the entire logo looks odd.

In finally choosing their new logo, the EC is only asserting their rightful independence and making it clear to all that, they would not allow anybody to push them around. Truly, the EC does not have to get approval from anybody before they change their logo so whether someone or the other does not like it, is irrelevant. The most important thing is for them to organize a credible election on November 7 and there is no reason to suspect that a new logo will adversely affect their functioning.

This woman, Charlotte Osei is MISUNDERSTANDING the "independent" nature of the EC, and therefore stretching her boundaries: She thinks the nature of INDEPENDENCE stated in the constitution empowers her to IMPOSE anything she finds FUN in it, on the ELECTORATE she's supposed to SERVE. Discerning Ghanaians will not accept any DICTATION from her.

This Charlotte Osei showed an incredible arrogance when she was interviewed by Sampson Ayenini of MyJoyonline.

I knew right away that Mahama has made yet another GOOFY appointment. Mahama is simply not good enough for the Presidency. This man who dance to "Azonto" in public and subscribes to INCOMPREHENSIBLE parlance called "Ede Bii Keke" and "Eye Zuu, Eye Zaa" is simply NOT a serious individual for the job he's holding now: his overwhelmingly abysmal performance attests to this FACT.

Now he appointed an EC who thinks she should use the LIMITED EC budget to design a logo which resembles her childhood favourate TOY she NEVER had. All she cares is that she's happy with it even if the people she's supposed to "serve" are not.

We're finished Ghana, because, now, not only do we have individuals who are NOT serious and, or don't value national interest, but emotionally fixated on childhood toys and designs to run our country for us.

she said: “we are more than the ballot box. Our mandate is beyond just the ballot box as we’ve explained”

Mrs Osei said “We like it; we picked it; it makes us happy. It reminds us of all the values that we want to bring into our work and where we are going as a Commission.”

There is a WE group that is behind this and Ghanaians need to be weary of this WE group because
1. the we group do not represent the authority of the state of Ghana (are they not under oath to serve in Ghana and the people of Ghana)
2. the we group are independent to such an extent that they are above the legal and functionality of the Coat of arms that represent the Nation of Ghana
3. whatever the we group wants that is what they are intending to do. (We like it; we picked it; it makes us happy.)
There is no such entity that exists anywhere in any nation all governing bodies are subject to the laws of a nation and the outcry of the people.

If the 'we group' thinks that they are independent they need their own country to go and rule maybe somewhere on the Sahara desert they can come together and call it the INDEPENDENT WE STATE OF SUB-SAHARA.
