  The lawyer is saying the right thing,the Electoral commission can be independent as the way it is right now, but mind you you it is still an institution in Ghana being financied through the Ghanaian taxpayer.Those reforms being geared towards must have the approval of parliament.Charlotte Osei cannot just reform without consulting the parliament.
  
  What is the meaning of the new logo ??? Recall, Kufour named Flagstaff house Millenieum house and what did the NDC do? they changed the name back to flagstaff house since they thought that was the name fit for it , since that name has been there for years.

  We are made to understand that Ghana's flag was designed by a Ghanaian, and it depicts everything Ghanaian, as the words of our Anthem tell us. This Charlotte Osei is telling us that she saw the symbol and she liked it, but did she reflect whether Ghanaians would like it?
  The Ec is a public institution, for God's sake! It is not a private entity, where any foolish person just gets up and decide she is changing the institution's image because she does not like the old image. The EC should be made to understand that they cannot claim to be independent when it is the tax payer's money that is used to run the commission. It is the nation's constitution that has given the EC that elevated position, and the constitution is itself under authority of the people. The EC must be brought back to their lowly place. We should not sit down aloof while this little girl abuses everything Ghanaian. She is telling us that her commission is above the nation's Coat of Arms, and thus above authority of the State! Do we have to look on hopelessly and allow her to disgrace us all? Stand up and defend the nation, peoples of G

  The EC exists to serve the state therefore the is absolutely no way she can claim that it is above the authority of the state. What she has effectively said is that the EC is a corporate body that exists to run elections on contract. It also means that as a corporate body they are free to run election for other countries when contracted to do so. She has by implication taken the EC outside the authority of the Republic of Ghana. By extension it can also have private shareholders and can also sell it's services to the highest bidder. In other words those in existence to win power in a country can contract it's services to achieve that intention. The President cannot stand aloof from this insult to the country. He represents the authority of Ghana and must act now to correct the misconception by Chalotte Osei and her masters. This is a constitutional issue and should not be dismissed by him. This matter is above party politics and John Mahama should recognize it as such. If it is allowed to pass then she can later argue correctly that the EC can have private shareholders. At this moment she is an agent of the state, is accountable for her actions to the state and must be brought back in line. I am sure that the previous symbol of the EC was not arrived at flippantly, so what are the overriding reasons she has to dismiss it because she has some other preference. There are undeclared reasons for this occurrence at this time.
