Shameless NDC party of thieves are all shaken for their crimes against the state. The Akan saying is so true that “when an animal is about to die, they make their last rattling, kicking noises”. NDC wants’ to turn the up-coming elections into a tribal conflict, but Ghanaians don’t even give them the chance to hang themselves. They know they cannot win elections fairly and most of their evil plans have been unveiled, finally they employed their own sympathiser, the very incompetent EC boss to run their show. How can a former minister Dzifa even encourage that they should open the boarders with Togo for their cousins to step in and vote for her (which is illegal in itself).
If their hands are clean, including Prez Mahama, they would all have condemned what Dzifa has said or intended. God has punished this nation for too long and if He is willing to lift the curse, He will start by removing this evil government first. They only care about their party, conniving together from the top to the bottom to do no good, other than kill, steal and destroy. Now they think they are so cleaver to knock our heads together. Every day another senior member will rise up and support Dzifa how the NPP are bent on to imprison Voltarians. Are they the only politicians who have stolen from the nations’ coffers and have gone to admit quilt before even the bubble bast? My dear Ewes there is nothing wrong to vote for the party of your choice but don’t let them use you. You are not the only people in the NDC government who have stolen, Asiedu Nkatia and his counterparts are Ashanti’s, Mahama, his 19 brothers and sisters are Northerners etc, etc. Why fear if their hands are clean? If you talk about tribalism, rule him out because it is not part of his vices. Those of us who know him like Papa Jerry can attest to his boldness in handling political issues even when it is in his party. He has stated emphatically that he will jail those who are stealing and have stolen from the past if he becomes president. That has led to fear of him in his own party and NDC. What was Dzifa thinking when she was branding the buses at such cost? She is scared that Akuffo Addo and any radical can put her, Wayome and the other crooks in prison.

When Kennedy Agyepong said Asantes should kill Ewes and Gas he refused to comment on it and failed to condemn it and when Osafo Marfo also made his tribal remarks he refused to condemn it,he is tribalistic,no doubt about that,the records are there for people to see.

In the civilized world that we are in now, there should be no fear of any leader unless that leader wants to make his own laws like Akuffo Addo will do as you have just stated,there is nothing like radicalism in democracy,if Akuffo Addo is a radical as you have stated then our democracy has no room for him,no country needs radicals in this modern world as leaders,radicals do not respect existing laws,they make their own laws or rule with their own laws,you have damaged him than fixed him.

There is no evidence that Dzifa was the one branding the buses at that cost,you are making allegations you have no evidence of, the fact that she resigned does not mean she was directly involved or guilty,she may have ordered the rebranding but not involved in the contract,the Metro Bus Company may have been involved in the rebranding but as a sector minister the blame goes to her,hence the resignation.She did something that never happened in our part of the world before,the reason why our officials don't take responsibility for the actions in their various departments to resign are these type of comments,they think by resigning people may take it as guilty which is exactly what some of you who should know better are doing.

For example,when some officers of the American Secret Service were involved in prostitution in one of the Latin American countries during one of president Obama's trip and later when there was a security breach in the White House,the Director resigned,because that is her outfit those things were happening,she was not involved in the prostitution,she was not on duty,not even his deputies were involved but as a leader who accepts respinsibility of the actions of the elements of her outfit she resigned,these are things we should be encouraging our officials to do.

Finally,despite some of us disagreement with the former president,people like Ofosu Kwakye should watch their mouths to polish their words before commenting on issues involving the former president,without Rawlings every single one of them will not be where they are today and must be grateful for that,if he were that smart he should have avoided the question or the issu, not comment on it if he cannot say anything better than what he said,his comments are outrageous,not necessary.

Yes, I have known Akuffo Addo in quite his youthful days and he is not tribal. Many Akan people wanted him to choose an Akan as his running mate but refused and rather chose a Dagomba. With political comments, Mahama, Papa Jerry and Akuffo Addo have all made various degrees of comments. Those comments could be seen as tribal depending on where you view it from. It does not necessarily mean the person is a tribal but said them for political expediency.
Akuffo Addo is not even liked by some of his own Akan NPP people because he is too straight. Those who know him can attest to that. He is almost like Trump who say it as it is and will not usually polish it. Many politicians in Ghana make some unpalatable statements for votes depending on where they are. Ken Agyapong makes some useless statements statements just like the one he made recently about his bed costing $80,000. Who cares.So is Osafo Marfo too but Akuffo Addo cannot hold brief for them and condemn it. It is just like Mahama will not condemn some of his appointees who have sharp teeth.
In Dzifa's case branding the buses, she as the sector minister should be held responsible because if she knows nothing about it, then she did not do effective supervision. If she knows something about it, then that is corruption.

Dzifa's resignation is laudable but it does not end there.She actively participated in the deal and never thought it was going to come out.She has been haunted ever since.In a law court in future ,which is bound to happen, she would have to make a plea deal for a lesser sentence. Please do not set up the Volta Region against any party because this will not help the development of the region. NDC politicians have been exploiting Volta votes for their selfish interest. Other regions can boast of their citizens in any government but they same cannot be said of Ewes. Currently, the NDC government has very few Ewe minsters in key positions even though the region enjoys the bulk of its votes from the region.
We need a regional development fund to begin the accelerated development of the region but not voting to prevent few selfish individuals from the region from going to prison.
The focus of our voting pattern should reflect which party is committed to set up a development fund for the region.

In fact, the main reason that Rawlings himself cited for his bitter quarrels with with Atta Mills was that Mills refused to prosecute NPP members for all kinds of economic crimes and malfeasance. Yep, that is Rawlings for you, folks. Today, he is in bed with the NPP to dethrone Mahama because the NDC will not entertain his wife's nonsense and also his own inability to take control over the NDC.

To begin with, lets put this on record that Ativor didn't insult anyone, and didn't break any law either. The last time I checked , it was Jerry Rawlings who insulted Akans by calling them "Gbemelaoo", meaning Uncivilised people, Bush people, or/and Animals. Yes, that was Rawlings insulting Akans. He thinks everyone has selective memories like him. No! I don't.

Ativor was right in calling on her people to vote wisely. He didn't do anything wrong.

Did Rawlings issue any public public statement when Kennedy Agyapong called on Ashantis to attack and kill Gas and Ewes? No he didn't because to him, Ken's genocidal calls were not tribalistic.

Did Rawlings issue any public statement when Akufo Addo made his "Ye Akanfuo" statement? No he didn't because to Rawlings, Akufo Addo is not tribalistic.

Did Rawlings issue any public statement when Osafo Marfo said his tribe should be the ones ruling Ghana and must also be the ones controlling the resources of Ghana? No Rawlings didn't because to him, Osafo Marfo is not tribalistic.

Did Rawlings issue any public statement when the NPP, as a party, took the unusual position by refferring to Ghanaians in the Voter register as "Togolese"? No he didn't because to him, the NPP is not tribalistic.

Voltarians should not forget how Rawlings himself used divide-and-conquer tactics to get people of the Volta region to vote en masse for his NDC, something that you can't blame him for but for the incessant attacks, disrespect, and insults that followers of the NPP have for people from the Volta region.

Rawlings himself has forgotten what he suffered at the hands of the followers of the NPP. He has forgotten the derogatory names that he was called by the NPP and its followers. The man has forgotten. "Ashawo ba", that he was not a Ghanaian, "Akonta ber se fom", "Akonta be ko", and on and on and on. He has so soon forgotten everything.

NDC must be very careful. There is a secret agenda by Rawlings and his wife to take back control of the NDC. The duo have seen how the NPP has slipped from the hands of Ashantis into the hands of Akyems and how that Ashanti-Akyem schism is destroying the NPP. JJ and the wife wants the NDC to lose the 2016 election, go into opposition and that will give them (JJ & wife) the chance to take over the party once again. That is what the whole Rawlings game plan has been. By promoting Akufo Addo to win over Mahama, JJ is preparing the grounds to take control over the NDC. That is his NDC's "Agenda 2020" equivalence.

Only fools fail to read into what is influencing his vitriol against his own NDC. If your brain is up to the task, you will understand what is going on. Rawlings wants to see the NDC defeated so that he can take "his" party back.

I wish to draw President Rawlings attention to the following facts:

President Rawlings, I'm one of those who highly esteem you because of your wise views generally, your incorruptible nature and your deep love for Ghana which you have demonstrated during your many years of leading the country, but I wish to state that this is one of the rare occasions that I vehemently disagree with you. Of course, if Ms. Ativor insinuated that Ewes should vote for the NDC because you are its founder, then she was totally wrong. I believe that people should support a particular political party for its ideology and how that is translated to accrue to benefit of the citizenry when that party assumes the reins of governance and not on the basis of which ethnic group the founder of the party belongs to.

Where I differ from you on this issue, Mr. President, is your denial and total condemnation of Ms. Ativor's statement that the NPP will jail NDC members if the former comes to power. As you are aware yourself, that was precisely what the NPP did throughout former President Kufuor's term of office. Kufuor and his NPP did imprison NDC leaders like Daniel Abodakpi, Victor Selormey, Peprah and Tsatsu Tsikata. Indeed, the NPP's J. H. Mensah had publicly declared that that administration was going to jail one by one the entire NDC leadership and by the time they finished doing so, the entire party would have been destroyed. Have you forgotten that, or are you not aware of that, President Rawlings? Did you not personally attend the trials of some of those NDC leaders to show your support for them?

President Rawlings, are you denying today that President Kufuor and his NPP targeted you yourself personally, trying to find some criminal charge against you and that this was the main reason why he established his National Reconciliation Commission at the beginning of his administration? Did you not remark yourself that this Commission was established merely "because of one man", that one man being yourself? Did the Kufuor administration not even attempt to assassinate you? Have you forgotten how they often sent their armed secret service agents to trail you and harass you? Did Kufuor not humiliate you by banning you from Burma Camp? Did Akufo-Addo not fully implement the Kufuor administration policy of stripping you of your privileges as a former President, to the extent that you had to carry your own luggage at the airport when travelling? How do you now seem to have forgotten all that?

Besides, did Kufuor and his administration not target a large number of Ewes and dismiss them from both the civil and public services at the beginning of his administration, following after the footsteps of Prime Minister Kofi Abrefa Busia's "Apollo 568" in 1969? President Rawlings, how do you seem to have forgotten all that?

President Rawlings, I am greatly appalled by your praise of Nana Akufo-Addo today! How do you soon seem to have forgotten about all his corruption and corrupt activities? Have you forgotten all that he did when he was given power as Attorney-General and Minister of Justice during the Kufuor administration? During your own administration, an Akufo-Addo's cousin was convicted of drug dealing and according to the law, his property (house) was confiscated, but once Akufo-Addo came to power he summarily returned the property to him. Likewise, when three top NPP ladies from Dzorwulu were arrested at the Kotoka International Airport for attempting to export cocaine to Europe, Akufo-Addo never prosecuted them. The case merely disappeared into thin air. These are only two of his numerous corrupt activities. And that is the kind of man you are supporting to become President of Ghana---a man who obtained a Third Class baccalaureate degree from the University of Ghana after having been kicked out of Oxford University in England, not to mention the fact that he claims to be a lawyer, but, like Kufuor, no one knows where precisely he studied law. Is it any wonder that Akufo-Addo also claims his law certificate is missing! Don't you think it is curious how he was registered as a lawyer by the Ghana Legal Council? Don't you think Ghanaians have the right to know fully the educational background of the person who wants them to elect him as their president, including how and where he trained as a lawyer? Did your own wife not at least once publicly challenge Akufo-Addo's claim of being a lawyer?

Finally, President Rawlings, how can you say that Akufo-Addo is neither violent nor tribalistic or ethnocentric? Have you forgotten his "All die be die" mantra of violence as well as that of "Yen Akanfo"? Which politician would utter such distasteful comments unless s/he is violent and ethnocentric? Please remember even if you have decided to forget all that, Ghanaians in general, including even Akufo-Addo's own supporters, will not.

President Rawlings, before you condemn Ms. Ativor hook, line and sinker, please do not forget the above and other facts of her statement. Don't let your strange decision to support Akufo-Addo and his NPP becloud your vision to make an unwise decision as you did the last time. As things look right now, President Mahama and your NDC party are on the way of winning the 2016 elections again. The NPP themselves see clearly the writing on the wall; that's why they are becoming very desperate. In the event NDC win the elections again, you and Akufo-Addo and his NPP would be the loser once again.

1. The Akan and Ewe discourse on ethnic politics is based on suspension founded or unfounded, animosity of economic wellbeing with one region endowed with much resources in comparison to the other. In addition the impact of the Ashante golden stool and its strong position vis a vis the other ethnic groups creates its dynamics as there is no power chiefdom as that of the Asante stool.
2. At the micro level that is the individual family level there seems to be a likeness and harmony between these two ethnic groups. But deep in our traditional settings imbedded in society one ethnic group feels superior to the other for historical reasons from the existence of the ethnic groups on Ghana to slavery and colonialism and modern politics. I recall growing up in the Volta region and forbidden in our "proud" household not to speak Ewe by my late parents but to speak pure Kwahu not tainted by the Volta Akan. As young Ghanaians Ewes, Akans and Northerns we spoke English but when we go into our individual families we stick to our ethnicities.
3. The dangers for Ghana and those are in ppsitions of authority and use ethnic and tribal cards is to take a look at recent history globally from former Yugoslavia to Ivory Coast it is when the elite use ethnic politics that results into its consequences.
3. It is a responsibility of all Ghanaians especially those in position of authority to use their authority to denounce ethnic and tribal politics to lead by example. The President of the Republic should be the first to denounce ethnic politics irrespective of the ethnic group of the individual who utters ethnocentric messages.
4. Ewes and Akans are all created equal and inhabit diffrent regions and geology woth different resources and should see this diversity as opportunity for all. We need rethink and not to be fooled by politics who strive for their individual gains but play the ethnic cards to benefit them. Personally, I feel sad when a region and a people are described as a World Bank of a political party ....this implies these regions don't vote on policies and tgee content of the character of the leaders but in pure ethnic lines. A simple question when politicians loot the nation do they share their bounties with the ordinary Ghanaian. Long live Ghana from the shores of the Atlantic, the forests in the East and West, to the Sahel in the North.

Rawlings will continue to disgrace himself as well as belittle himself daily due to many comments he made in the past that he had now pretended to not have made.

Every smart and wise person in Ghana is aware of the foul cry Rawlings and Konadu and their families have come out to say bitterly about the NPP and their politics of selective intention of punishing the NDC.

It is of this selective punishment that Rawlings and Konadu and others went through under the NPP era that caused Rawlings to expect Atta Mills to bring retribution on the NPP government of Kufour. Atta Mills failure to honour that expectetion caused Rawlings and Konadu to criticise, condenm and attack daily the NDC under the Atta / Mahama government till today.

Today Rawlings who is in pain and feels he has no position to occupy in the NDC anymore has quickly resolved to destroying the NDC in a smart covert way of undermining the NDC of which Ofosu Kwakye has caught him in the open.
