NPP in their desperation to lambast the Mrs Charlotte Osei at all times with no reason to disgrace her will fall into their own grave and die. The FRY that does not listen to advice will follow the corpse to the cemetery and be buried with it! It is an undeniable fact that more that 80% of the people in Ashanti region voted for the NPP. If about 96,000 of those who voted in the Ashanti Region used the NHIS cards then about 77,000 of them voted for the NPP in 2012. NPP will hang themselves before the elections in November. The NPP has not seen anything yet. Something gargantuan will befall NPP before 7 November 2016 to open the door for President Mahama to win the election ONE TOUCH!

Ben should not consider only absolute numbers but proportions or percentages of the total registered voter population in each region. Of course, Asante and Eastern Regions having larger populations will have higher numbers of registered voters who used the NHIS card. However to make regional comparisons one must consider not only the relative numbers but percentages to know which region or party could benefit or suffer from the SC court ruling.

In any case, this is also not about who benefits more because getting a credible voters' register benefits all Ghanaians and not one political party as that would make the 2016 general elections more credible and for all parties to accept the results. That is how I see the SC ruling on the voters' register and the directives to the EC

What is the immport of this nonsense about the Ashanti region? If 96k people are to register again in the Ashanti region, and so what?
What is important to Ghanaians, is for a new voters register to be compiled before the November 2016 Elections. We should not allow this incompetent EC to plunge the country into chaos by her intransigence to compile a new voters register. She should continue to rely on the NDC promises of absolute security for herself. What about your mother,siblings, father etc. Tell the NDc to provide absolute security for all of them.
All political parties, apart from the ruling NDC government, are calling for a new voters register, and you are refusing to reason, thinking that you would be safe in event of any political disturbances in the wake of the elections. The EC must understand that, in the absence of the NPP not prepared to go to court, the alterntive is war whether we like it or not. But one thing is clear, in event of any war in Ghana resulting in death of citizens of this country, John Dramani Mahama may impose himself on Ghanaians but will eventually end up in prison for the rest of his life for the mayhem.

The foreigners who came to register in the Ashanti region were all NDC. All those foreigners came with NHIS card to register. Note, no Ashanti indigen needed NHIS card before he could register in 2012.

Yet we have leaders who still think all attention, energy, resources, should be on voters registration

The lives of a Ghanaian is becoming complex and difficult with so many different systems.... driver's license, pension, vehicle registration, insurance, banking, nhis, tin, passport, student numbers, voters register card, birth certificate, etc.... all we need is unique identity number that will link all these documents. Your unique identity number is given at birth and it becomes your lifetime number, banks, tax, pension, school, election, passport, drivers license, birth certificate, etc will all bear this number. The number is cancelled when one dies or upon issuance of death certificate.... let's be realistic. South Africa have this system... you never see south Africans ever fighting to register for elections cos you know if you are not a south African you can't register... just present your identity document to registration centre, your identity document is verified through through bar codes, if you turn 16years just apply for the identity document with your birth certificate which already shows your lifetime number, your biometric details are captured immediately, then you can now begin to register for voting. Upon death, before a death certificate can be issued, the identity document is submitted to the home affairs dept for cancellation and removal from database. It's easier then for electoral commission to know those to be removed from the register, those to be added to register since from the centralized system they know the exact number of citizens who are 18years. The same number appears on revenue services database, bank, insurance, car, drivers license, so it's easier to be traced and identified....

Leaders we want such systems in Ghana.... we have computer scientists, programmers, software developers all over the country and beyond.... we need credible database before credible elections.... citizens lets demand this first... What shows that we are Ghanaians... our national identity document should

If NHIS registered voters in Ashanti Region is high, it could only mean that a party which is not too popular in Ashanti Region is registering unqualified people to bolster its strength in the region.
