We take things for granted in this country. We were all hearing how people were not responding to the limited voter exercise with some radio stations making so much noise about low turn-out. What changed? Even if people are given hundred days they will wait till the last day and when it turns out that they are not registered, they know they have the same media to make noise on their behalf. It is voluntary so those who really wanted to vote went and got their names on the BR. Gyampong your call should have come much earlier it is rather too late in the day.

EC meeting their target is not the issue. The issue is what percentage of ages 18- 24 has the EC registered. If the EC's target was based on the population census growth projections, then the target should be the younger age ... read full comment

If the EC's target was based on the population census growth projections, then the target should be the younger age group and not the total number of people who registered.The EC should have known that the SHS and universities are the ones to be given attention. The EC should wake up and be more serious. They can offer us better services than this. It kills our spirits to think that we have such high standing men and women at the EC and this is the kind of service they can offer Ghanaians.

Who took that decision? What influenced that decision? Is this the first time the EC is conducting a limited registration exercise? What kind of research and experiences have the EC accumulated over the years with regards to students in our tertiary institutions and how registration exercises are conducted in such institutions? Was that a consideration in arriving at the decision to site just one registration center in the various campuses?
Ghanaians continue to insist the EC must do the right thing. The EC must be seen to do the right thing. The EC must develop the capacity and the ability to do the right thing and actively do the right thing. There can be no other alternative apart from the EC doing the right thing going into this 2016 elections. It must do the right thing.
