President Mahama's nice personality is often confuse with a weakness in dealing with corruption. But far from it, one needs to have a wicked face and hostile posture to deal with the problem. It is about allowing the Institutions to work without interference. If the courts find an official guilty, so be it, and if they set someone free, the president must show willingness to abide by the decision. Any other way amounts to non respect of the rule of law. This is what democracy is all about. The fight against corruption is not throwing people into jail without due process of the law. To this I say well done to JDM.

The new 465,560 square foot ridge hospital now under construction will deliver modern healthcare facilities to women and children and will become the largest hospital in the country. On your return I plead with you to tackle cases of corruption still pending with speed. Let us see you institute action against the big cases, Branding of the buses is a case in point. Just asking for refund of monies stolen is not enough. Prosecution must follow because a criminal offence has been committed. This is what Ghanaians want to see and hear. That way you will be seen to be doing something about corruption. The actions you have taken so far including getting refunds from Gyeeda, and co offenders is not enough. Prosecutions should follow. It will be up to the courts to decide whether criminal offences have been committed and the appropriate penalties applied. President Kuffour did put people on trial even if they were from the opposition then, but at least people were tried and jailed rightly or wrongly. He did what most Ghanaians wanted to see and hear.
