  This is funny and serious. The traditional authority should not ask him to leave immediately. They have no such power. The District commanding officer should rather look into the case. If it is true, this is stealing and he should be arrested and prosecuted. As at now, it has not been established whether he stole the roofing sheets or not.

  Because of politics many of them has sold their right to central government.
  The days are coming when citizens will be fed up with the politicians and turn to their Traditional Rulers for solutions. Power belongs to the people and their Rulers!

  Yes, I agree with you that traditional authorities have power but some have sold their conscience. Now, their authority is waning because many of them dabble in partisan politics.
  However, the chief cannot say that a police officer posted to their area should leave immediately for stealing. The officer has not been investigated or found guilty in any court of competent jurisdiction. We should not encourage the colonial times when the chief could excommunicate even his own subjects. They don't have that power anymore. If the people of the town take the laws into their hands, the IGP can close that Police Post and the people will see who shall protect them from armed robbers and other criminals. What the chief needs to do is to report the allegation to the District and Regional command of the Police. If after investigation he is found to have stolen those roofing sheets, he should be arrested, prosecuted, imprisoned and fired from the Police service.

  The police is there to protect colonial interest and not the black interest. Take the police out and the traditionalists will protect the town from criminals way better than er're experiencing now.
  When Ho in the VR was experiencing crime wave sometime ago, the traditional authorities threatened to police the town effectively to shame the police but Mahama appealed to them that the police will double up next time around. The traditionalists knew how to better bring law and order in a black world than the Euro clowns.

Name me four traditionalists that are not corrupt.

  So a chief has the power to order a police officer to immediately leave his traditional area of authorirty or he cannot guarantee his safety for allegedly insulting him.I do not blame chiefs for arrogating to themselves powers they do not have.They are behaving as if we are in the colonial era when the colonial aministration used them to oppress and maltreat their own subjects.They even had their own police forces and kangaroo courts where they meted out rough justice and extorted their subjects.I do not blame them for politicians go to them to beg for votes and for that reason they have grown horns and are acting beyond their powers.Those chiefs who are behaving like that are warned to be very careful.Chiefs are subject to the laws of Ghana.They are not above them.And nowhere in Ghana is their property.Any ghanaian can choose to live wherever he/she likes
