You make a lot of sense but it is not the constitution, neither is it the institutions we have. It is our attitude towards politics and towards each other that's causing the problem. Some of us have decided that they will act carelessly and not think of the consequences of their action. And Ghanaians being largely uneducated on this issues, we simply follow and act on what the politicians say. The problem is our attitude.

Whether parliamentary or presidential or different constitution with this our attitude we will still get the same results. Bad attitude to work and mismanagement.

Rawlings designed the constitution to give himself all powers. That is why all institutions are failing in the country. Because the president appoints almost everybody in authority in the country.

the problem in Ghana is conscience! If politicians and Ghanaians in general apply their conscience to daily lives, people will not try to rip the nation off.
But greed and lack of conscience is killing us.

1992 Constitutions is weal it should have given more powers to the president. I am not aware if a member of the communist parties in Britain and U.S. are given cabinet posts in their governments.

Dr. Armah Viam seems to have got his sums wrong. What does he mean, when he says in effect, elections in Ghana is now a matter of do or die. Particularly, with the party in opposition trying to win the elections at all cost. Dr. Viam, the author of the article, must take a crash course in competitive democracy. If there is any problem in leadership crisis in the country now, the blame must be put squarely on the shoulders of the President of the Republic. There have been presidents who have administered the country with this same constitution, which Dr. Viam wants to attribute as the cause of the failure. A bad workman quarrels with his tools.
