The Ghana Police should not engage in the regulation of free speech by it's so-called ban on social media during the elections. What is said on social media is no different from what is said in the papers and in public. The Police have misplaced priorities. The public is yearning for better security protection all year round, and that should a priority of the Police. You may not like what is said on social media, but then again, whoever told the Police that what is expressed on social media has to be acceptable to the Police? Will the Police also consider imposing a ban on these politicians who are no different from those expressing themselves on social media?
