He also claims to be a lawyer, just like former President Kufuor, but both can't say where they trained to become such. Akufo-Addo only says that he has lost his law certificate.How can one lose one's certificate in this day and age and cannot get a replacement from the institution that awarded it?

Isn't it funny that Akufo-Addo is criticising President Mahama for the status of Ghana's current economy? Of course, he can do that because it's easy to do so when he's not in power. You guys are too addicted to Akuffo Addo's third class Economics degree. But will you rather have a third year Economics degree or a third class history degree? Yes, a third class history is what your Mahama got.

Anyway, a lot of great Presidents in history didn't even go to University including Henry Truman. Ronald Reagan graduated with a 2.0 average from a small college in Illinois, worse than a third class degree.

Are you living in Mars? There is a plantain shortage in Ghana, something unheard off for more than twenty years and you are talking twaddles.

Ivory Coast went through civil war recently so receiving a debt relief for an economy coming out political upheaval is not how you measure how well an economy is doing. Ivory Coast economy is growing better than Ghana, that is a fact.

Sarp since economic data are facts not fiction I would ask you to fact-check your Ivory Coast - Ghana comparison. All you have to do is open two registers for CIA.gov i.e. one for Ghana and one for Ivory coast and compare.

Yes Ivory Coast is growing at 8.5% but just like Ghana went through a boom during the debt relief period similarly Ivory Coast is riding high now because there is fresh money in the system. Ghana is gone beyond that phase and in many aspects still on the leaderboard. Ghana has invested in many key strategic industries and it will soon start yielding dividend.

Your allegations that there is plantain shortage in Ghana is in my opinion untrue. In fact I just returned from Ghana 4 weeks ago and I ate my kelewale, tatale and red red (red plantains with beans). Trust you me, I did the purchase on my own.

Sarp, fat lies and unfounded rumours are not the real issues. Lets stick to the facts, not allude to allegations. Good to note that you are still hanging on in there. Keep it up. That is what I call passion.

This rectangular like land is green and has everything. We have more basic food than any country I have ever known and this is not my educated guess. If we have no plantains there is yam, ccocoyam, cassava or other alternatives. This is what makes our country unique. Guess what! Today Ivorians are learning how to make kenkey.

Look, during my school days in the 60s we used to joke among my peers that "God might possibly be a Ghanaian" Why - because he gave us everything. In fact if you travel around Africa then you will know how blessed we are. See Ghanaians don't travel even within our country. Our travel routes are one direction. Only few people know the anatomy of country well.

Yaro for your information, I am grounded in reality and don't behave like some us do when in Ghana. So Yaro, as much as I would want to believe your apocalyptic scenario in Ghana; I am sorry to disappoint you. Ghana is not black as you paint it and would want us to believe. Here is a list of choice of basic food the Ghanaian can select on any given day from breakfast to super.

For breakfast beverage you have normal KoKo, Hausa koko, tom brown, eko egbemin, apaprasa, rice and beans, gari and beans, agide, fula, abodo, and the list goes on like milo...

Cereals like maize, rice, African wheat Give us banku, kenkey, two-wo

We have yam, cocoyam, cassava, sweet potatoes, plantain, red plantain, mind you the Europeans and temperate regions like Canada have only potatoes

Fruits like orange, pine apple, cashew fruit, mango, banana, water melon, sugar cane

Vegetables like kontomerie, brokorborkor,tomatoes, garden eggs

Fish, cattle/goat/ sheep meat, poultry bushmeat etc

varieties like groundnuts, palmnut, agushie, give us soup and stew

Deserts: Orfamu, kelewale, tatale klaklo, fried cocoyam,yam etc

So Yaro see the positive side of Maame Ghana. She will provide for us and in the end bury us all be you rich or poor because in the end the new become the old and death is inevitable. Cheer up Ghana is not that black as we paint it.

I listen to the news everyday in Ghana and even today they interviewed plantain sellers and chop bar owners who complained about shortage of plantain leading to high cost of the product.

An average Ghanaian cannot afford to buy three pieces of plantain for five cedis when a year ago five cedis could have bought ten pieces and it is because of shortage that is causing the high prices, this is Economics 101. Shortage does not mean you cannot find plantain to buy.

I take you folks to the recent Nielsen report for investors in Africa where Côte d'Ivoire is the top destination for investors. Then I take you to IMF report on economy growth where Côte d'Ivoire has sustain an average growth of 8.5 per year since 2012. Many other indicators are showing Côte d'Ivoire has better prospects to be an emerging economy by 2020.
Ghana is experiencing a budget deficit since Kuffor left office which show the inability of the government to mobolise funds and affect the currency which people don't see because of the denomination. Ghana has a lot more problems than that and should really focus on things more urgent such as electricity which in no way can match Côte d'Ivoire who has recently open a new thermal central of electricity production. They transfer electricity to many countries not Ghana only, Mali, Burkina Faso, Liberia and soon Niger. Please give a break to them

Food imports will definitely hit $2 billion mark by the end of this year. Do not compare Ghana to Ivory Coast in terms of agricultural output. The latter is way ahead. Do not cite crude oil in support of your argument because there is no proceed it.

Sincerely, Côte d'Ivoire doesn't envy any country. I take you folks to the recent Nielsen report for investors in Africa where Côte d'Ivoire is the top destination for investors. Then I take you to IMF report on economy growth where Côte d'Ivoire has sustain an average growth of 8.5 per year since 2012. Many other indicators are showing Côte d'Ivoire has better prospects to be an emerging economy by 2020. Ghana is experiencing a budget deficit since Kuffor left office which show the inability of the government to mobolise funds and it affects the currency which people don't see because of the denomination. Ghana has a lot more problems than that and should really focus on things more urgent such as electricity which in no way can match Côte d'Ivoire who has recently open another new thermal central of electricity production. They transfer electricity to many countries not Ghana only, Mali, Burkina Faso, Liberia and soon Niger. Please give a break to them
