Ghana used to have 2 fully functional sugar factories in Komenda (Central Region) and Asutsuare (Greater Accra Region) but thanks to our own mismanagement, by the turn of the mid 80s we succeeded in collapsing them.

What do you call the "scare resource" that the Nkrumah wasted and to what use would you have put those "scare resources" that would have made Ghana a better place today?

Nkrumah did his best. He had the well-being of this nation at heart. He had the best of intents for Ghana but his detractors always want to twist history and portray Nkrumah as the problem but we all know better, unless you have no idea what Osagyefo put in place for this great nation that keeps struggling.

Find out for yourself,how much of our foreign exchange is spent on importing sugar into this country and ask yourself if it is worth trying to build our own sugar factory, manage it well produce, and produce our own sugar. Management is the bane of this country but if we have the competitive advantage in producing something we must do our best to harness those opportunities. If we don't do that we will forever keep struggling.

Our politicians are more concern about feathering their own nests than moving this nation forward and in the end, the vast majority of our people end up being the real victims. Even Rawlings the apostle of "Probity and Accountability" is corrupt. I don't even want to mentioned Kufour and the rest.

The factory will grind to a halt in about three months just like Juapong Textiles, Pawlugu Tomato Factory and Kumasi Shoe Factory are alll suffering. Poor planning .... I know there is a public relations element to be looked into. But I think a President should bring his or her own personality out. They are human after all. Yes, it's good this sugar factory is it place. Great! We used to have two sugar factories in Komenda (Central Region) Asutsuare (Greater Accra region) and due to our mismanagement, those factories collapsed and I still fear that the same fate will befall this state own factory too. That is a sad reality waiting to happen. We are stupid fools when it comes to managing anything.

Already, the factory has started on the wrong footing by deciding to pay 50 Ghana cedis per tonne of sugarcane. How viable and profitable is this going to be to entice farmers to take to sugarcane farming to sustain the operations of the factory or we are going to import sugarcane too, just as we import everything under this sun?

Instead of pegging sugarcane supplied to the factor at 50 Ghana cedis per tonne, management of the factory should think strategically and realise that if they make a good offer to farmers now, that will serve as an incentive too people to venture into the sugar farming business,
providing the factory a sustainable base of raw material supply that will eventually lead to a supply glut that will outstrip demand and push the price of sugarcane down to the benefit of the factory.

The ball is in the court of those entrusted to manage this factory. They will either fail or succeed but 95% of the time our state-managed institutions and firms have failed to performance. You will see the big guys driving in big cars and spending the tax payer's money like drunken sailors.

We are a nation of Cheats, Stupid fools, and Morons. If we had managed well even 20% of what Kwame Nkrumah put in place, Ghana would have been a far better place than even South Korea or China. Today, we cannot even compare ourselves with Vietnam. That is how much Ghana has retrogressed. We have the brains, we have the raw resources and yet still we cannot manage even shit and we have dumbass know-nothings like Kweku Baako, Kwesi Pratt, Afred Ogbame, Gabby Ochere Darko, Ametor Kwame, Fred Agbenyo, all the fucking bootlickers, and the yes-men and women always singing praises of one government or the other, all for their own parochial interest. Am sick of the nonsense and the rot this country finds itself in.

From personal experience in the manufacturing industry, unless the government intends to use muscle power to squeeze the juice out of the canes,the maximum number of people required to run the factory would not exceed 100! That leaves 6900 jobs that you'd agree must mostly come from growers, who must use cutlasses and hoes to farm the canes! Brilliant! Do you think we need to have commercial mechanized sugarcane plantations to be able to run the factory to capacity? i'd appreciate your thoughts on the numbers, please!

The matter is not about the shed but that NPP members are of the view that others can not feel that they are being beaten by elements of nature unless they are told by NPP. It looks like the matter of trained mother if you delivered in a certain country, but a woman who did not delivered her baby there is not a trained mother.
