Some men meet ashawo women who would fight, lie and give them all kinds of hell and they split up and the man goes on to meet a caring woman who then have a blissful relationship with him.

Women are the main causes of broken marriages these days. They start it all immediately the honey moon is over and their wide expectations hit a snag. It is they who come face to face with their responsibilities in the union and realise that they have pledged themselves into a hard task. It is they who will do everything to get out when they realise they cannot have things their way.
Women are the rock of every stable marriage, and immediately they decline to live to their responsibilities, there is trouble. Please let us tell our women that we depend on them and transfer all responsibility of stability in the home to them straight from the altar, so they should not fail us!

Is Pastor Otabil assuming that the married men in his church are representative of all men in Ghana? All marriages do not fail for the same reasons, and no leader of a church or community should make claims that are baseless since such claims only serve to turn one gender against the other. The claims made by Pastor Otabil make no sense, for he has nothing to back his wild and outlandish claims.

This Pastor is wrong big time,every thing in marriage is mutual but just saying it's all from the men is totally wrong.Yes I agree parents should never push their children who they should marry allow them to make their choices because at the end of the day we will be dead and gone and leave the two behind just counsel them about making some thoughtful choices not just follow name and tittles it's good to consider the two but not blindly.Consider age differences when the difference is lets be real more than may be 10 years from both side or more it's not the best,it is best up to maybe up to 10 or most 12 years from both sides and there are several things you have to consider such as if during friendship the man or woman ever hits you or gets angry easily just leave him or her because it will get worse and not better when you marry,if either smokes or a drunkard please just leave because it will be worse the take home message is please get to know yourselves better if either is lazy or uncompassionate leave

As Samirrt pointed out in his comment here, marriage is an institution of mutuality. Both husband and wife deserve mutual respect and mutual understanding. You don't enter into a marriage to carry out a master/slave relationship by falsely interpreting the bible or koran.

Otabil's bitterness against his father's alleged irresponsibility underlines much of preaching on fatherhood, marriage and responsibility, leading him to the mistaken belief that the circumstances of one marriage is necessarily the same as another's. Yet, granted that his father was all that, Rev. Otabil must still show some respect to the man who sired him. More importantly, he should free himself from his own childhood prison to become a better counsellor!

Marriages do not fail solely because of men's shortcomings. What's the purpose of women? To be helpmates, hence, when women fail to be helpmates and become liabilities what should the men do? Remember in the case of Adam, God had a clear purpose for him but sadly he gave in to the women's advice and that mistake caused the reversal of the divine order of things. God created man to have dominion over all that he had created, hence, the reason man named the woman Eve and every other creature God had created.

You only have dominion over that which you name. But when man failed and gave in to the woman's advice, divine order was turned upside down and the serpent (animal) had dominion over the woman, woman had dominion over the man since he was at the receiving end. The woman didn't accept responsibility since she wasn't the one God instructed.

Another example of man allowing himself to be influenced negatively is Abraham and Sarah in respect of taking Haggai and sleeping with her- Sarah turned round to blame Abraham. Again, another example is Jezebel and Ahab.

Thank God for Jesus, divine order has been restored. As men, we need to rise up.

I respect Pastor Otabil but I disagree with him on this issue. The issue of marriage and problems associated with it can't be generalized. As a counselor, I treat and address each and every situation differently. I made similar statements some years back during my sermon and I had a lot of support from women but when I pointed at their contribution towards marriage the support stopped comming. We must be fair and honest as men of God. Otabil should be grateful to God if he is blessed with a good wife and never generalized.

When a company is not performing who takes the blame?When a country is not performing whom do we blame? When a team is not performing whom do we blame? That doesn't mean husbands, company managing directors, coaches and head of states are always responsible for nonperformance. I don't see anything wrong with what he said.what a lot of us don't seem to realize is that,he is using a biblical principle to teach what responsibility is about.The Adam and Eve principle can be likened to majority of marriages in Ghana.if we will use our worldly happenings to to insult his opinion on a matter that is crucial to our survival on earth,then I think most of us are wrong.There are things today that my father tells me he should have been responsible for and it surprises me till now however all I can see from those things he tells me is that,Ishould be more responsible to my family than he was and i am grateful. So let's all look at it from a biblical principle to analyze this situation and suggest constructive criticism that will help anyone who reads this message than insult.

( Genesis 3;2-3) The word of God says the two shall be one flesh Eve shouldn't act on her without the knowledge of the husband who is the head of the family as Christ is the head of the church.Read Philemon 1;14 But it has been my wish to do nothing about it without first consulting you and getting your consent.
