When we were lucky, the parents would share the sleeping room (Asaso) and the children would share the living room (Peamu).

These days rooms are available so that in some families, EACH child has their own room and the parents may decide to share a common bed or each their own sleeping room.

There's nothing wrong with that.

Psychologists have even proved that marriage holds longer when spouses sleep separated - confimring the days when our fathers would have up to 6 six wives and none living with him.

Thank God Alan and his family were all spared!

This indicates how deplorable our Security System has deteriorated in Ghana. Many folks I have talked to do not have much faith in the Security Agencies, especially, the Police, to offer them the required security needed to live their lives in Peace.

After all the series of armed robbery in recent times, one would think the President would take to the Media Waves to assure Ghanaians of better protection. But, so far, so mum! This is some characteristic President Mahama seems to share with Akufo-Addo. They both remain silent in the face of such regular violence that we had never seen before.

What would it take for the Government to deploy even the Armed Forces to help the Police flush out these dangerous thieves? Even in the USA where the posse comitatus Law was passed in 1878 to explicitly ban the Military from enforcing Laws, many amendments were made in the 80s to allow the Military to help fight drug trafficking.

Today, the recent Patriot Act of the USA makes it even much easier for such intervention to fight terrorists locally.

Therefore, Ghana must not shy away from using her Military in stemming rising tide of fatal armed robberies that is sweeping over the country.

If these cold-hearted criminals realize that we wouldn't hesitate to unleash the Army on them, they would think twice before plunging into such a violent behavior.
