That is the spirit of nationalism. Niger is protecting and supporting its citizen to bring the money back home, irrespective of what is associated to that money. Ghanaians out of jealousy would have wished you lost it all.

However, the monies are momentarily seized, but upon paying a fine the moneys are released to the owner, unless it related to crime money laundering and a proceed from crime.
Ghana should return that guy's money if they couldn't find a crime committed by him.

there is now a govt intervention from niger.Ghana govt must look at the issue carefully,how the money was acquired,why was he travelling with it with no bank transfer.i think govt will win the case.

I am completely confused, is the person from Nigeria or Niger, one is English-speaking country and the other French-speaking, our journalist do well in verifying and editing their facts; if there is paper work at point of departure and arrival- declaration of such money then it should be given back if not it should be confisicated to the state and the person involved charged and jailed because it amounts to money laundering, one cannot 'globe-trot' around thee world with such large of money without declaring it----it's against th elaw, period !
