If it was presented to the Republic of Ghana we would not have paid duty on it. I know Gibril very well and he knows what he has done. That is why he has pulled out of the current tender. I remember Obama receiving a very expensive gift. Instead of keeping it, he added it to items in the White House. The same applied to George Bush Jr. He got an expensive gold gun from Saddam Hussein, and he kept it in the White House which was later returned to the Iraqis after the death of Saddam.
Ghanaians and NPP for that matter, are just a bunch of losers who see politics in everything that people do, especially people on the other side of the isle.
NPP will lose big time, because instead of looking for a message to give the electorate, they are making political hay out of everything that NDC does.

How can this fool compare the gift of fleet of cars given to President Kufuor from a leader of another country that was announced and was a public record, the cars never registered in the name of President Kufuor but went straight into the Presidential car pool.
Secondly, Gaddafi did not give these cars to Ghana t o influence the Kufuor government to award him contracts as Mahama did.
The fool Apaak is either intentionally being dumb or trying to defend the indefensible. He doesn't even know whose name the said car was registered to, either Mahama or a member of his family and the car was turned over to Ghana? Is that how things are done at the Flagstaff house?
Apaak again shows his lack of how Presidential gift to American Presidents are handled. A gift of over $250 to any US President is by law cannot be personally accepted and used. Any gift of an item to any USA that is valued over $250 goes into that President's library and never used by him as a personal property and in a nutshell, becomes the property of USA. The gift if it is a car would not be registered in the name of the said President as Mahama did here.
More importantly, where is the evidence that even Mahama turned this car over to the Presidential car pool? It doesn't make sense to me Mahama will register this car in his name and then turn it over to the state. That is not how things are done. If the car belongs to Ghana, it should be registered in the name of the country and not in Mahama's name.

Gaddafi gave the car to Ghana with documents showing that it came in the name of Ghana but the contractor gave the car to Mahama with attached documents showing that it was a gift for Mahama and not Ghana.
We have to stop making ourselves fools and understand that the international world is listening and watching how we are conducting ourselves.

The issue is whether the gift was a result of a favor which had been done for the donor or if the gift was intended to influence a decision in favor of the donor. Use this criteria as a basis to determine if Kuffuor's receipt of cars from Gadaffi was improper or unethical.
In the US, any gift over a stipulated donor amount is supposed to be reported to the appropriate authorities but not I guess not in Ghana.
