Really, what does he know about corruption and bribery, and the various forms it takes and is employed to loot the national coffers for illicit financial gain by politicians, as has brazenly happened in this perfect example of the Kanazoe-gate scandal which has exposed John Dramani Mahama so very badly and severely?
Until recently, John Dramani Mahama's own Advisor on governance and corruption who is now a member of the AU-ABC, which is the African Union Advisory Board on Corruption, and had previously held positions as the Exe. Director of GII- Ghana Integrity Initiative the local chapter of Transparency International and the Exe. Director of African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption-APNAC, has indicted John Dramani Mahama albeit indirectly, in a hypothetical scenario.
Is Boamah Omane Edward saying based on the experiences of Daniel Batidam, he Boamah Omane Kofi Edward is better positioned to speak on these matters of the fantastic corruption of John Dramani Mahama which has been exposed, as opposed to Daniel Batidam, now a member of the AU-ABC, a body which before you are elected to, requires one to be of the highest integrity and impartiality with recognized competence in matters relating to preventing corruption and related offenses? Is Boamah Omane suggesting he has any such recognized competence anywhere, has any such high integrity anywhere, any impartiality to speak to these matters? What is Boamah Omane's record in such matters except to engage in garrulous and infantile talk steeped in propaganda and outright senselessness as was witnessed on newsfile today?
This is not a case of somebody trying to stick mud on John Dramani Mahama because his core values and principles of corruption has been exposed and speaks for itself. Nobody needs to do that job for John Mahama, he is more than capable of doing that all by himself as the "Kanazoe-gate Expedition" has revealed. The idea that the personal gift given to John Dramani Mahama by Djibril Kanazoe of which he called to thank him personally was documented and the said gift found its way to the pool of vehicles at the Presidency or state protocol not absolve or negate the corruption and bribery revealed in this matter. Actually what it has done is, it can be construed and rightly so, it has served to influence the Presidency unduly, to steer contracts or other favors along the whole chain of command to the advantage of Djibril Kanazoe to the extent, the Chairman of Kanazoe Groupe was on the verge of being given a contract on a single sourced basis, until this story broke.
It is a very, very dangerous and unfortunate state of affairs that gifts of such magnitude would be given to John Dramani Mahama from his friend, and that gift would then be used as the lever to elicit undue and unwarranted advantage for illicit financial gain through the corrupting influence of complicity by the extension of that favor in the form of that gift, to other members of the Presidency.
That personal gift of that magnitude to John Dramani Mahama should have been returned back to the sender especially when there are regulations even before the coming into force of the code of ethics document for public officers holders.
This spectacular revelation of the corruption of John Dramani Mahama known to Ghanaians all over the world cannot be spinner any other way by Boamah Omane Kofi Edward or anybody for that matter, because it stinks very, very badly. In any jurisdiction the decent, right and proper thing would have been for John Dramani Mahama to resign, because this reeks to the high heavens.
