Too much emphassis on it alienate others who might be good, yet aren't get smiling face. We cannot make smiles the key to good charracters. Even moody or gloomy face should have their place. Since they serve a trait, charracter while giving meaning to state of conditions depicting situations and circumstances in literatures.

Emphassising on smiles promotes prejudices not healthy in relationships. You become fault finder. Or guilty, looking for cheap resolution without accepting your guilt, especially, those who chit chat behind others.
