Kwesi Pratt is the most dangerous Journalist Ghana had ever have, he had the gut to recommend his fellow journalists to be executed by PNDC. Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. Now Pratt is a secret agent to NDC and US Embassy in Ghana. May God forgive Pratt and spare him the untold evils that will come upon him and his generations. The souls of those journalist killed through Pratt's recommendations to PNDC will never forgive Pratt. You said it right. A cursory look on the political arena, State Institutions, Banks, Medicine, Law and other professions, are filled with qualified and sometimes, brilliant Northerners. There are equally, a sprinkling of women of Northern descent, in prominent positions. The Free Education Policy, introduced in and around the early fifties, have done a lot of good to their men and women who took advantage of the policy. It has been a good programme, irrespective of the cost to the nation.
It is however, hurting and dishonorable for someone, now President of Ghana, to pour cold water on a similar policy, for persons in the rest of the seven regions of the country. In doing so, the President was actively supported by fawning characters in his government, whose families from the denied regions, have not had anything near what our brothers and sisters have been enjoying for close to fifty years. Most of these characters own family members are illiterates or at best, badly educated and are therefore used as cannon fodder for the political privileged. The President accepted a bribe from a foreign contractor. As a result of the action, the contractor was given another big contract. The President showed his interest and appreciation of the bribe taken. He therefore lavishly praised the contractor, when commissioning one of the road works the said contractor built. This road has turned out to be one of the badly built roads in recent times. The president and his men decided to fool Ghanaians, nature has pointed to their ill intent.

The issue is that our President received a gift bribe from a foreign contractor, under-declared the value of the gift for customs duty purposes, paid the duty from his own pockets and personally phoned to thank the foreign contractor. If you have doubts about the bribe nature of the gift just ask yourself this simple question : When in the history of our country has any other President personally paid duty for a gift intended for the State ? Why on earth will a President who does not even pay taxes on his salary opt to pay duty on a car gift from a contractor who located and befriended him while seeking ways of winning contracts ? Why was this contractor awarded a contract to wall a vacant one acre plot belonging to our Embassy in an African country at the ridiculous cost of US$650,000.00? And why did the contractor present the gift bribe immediately after executing this ridiculous contract ? Why should a President who claims to be fighting corruption put himself in such a bad situation if he is not corrupt and greedy ? Finally remember the poor judges who were disgraced and humiliated for accepting gift bribes. Their punishment was approved by this President, remember? And do not bring up the matter of the State gifts from President Gadafi. That was a State to State gift our President at the time did not personally pay duty on the gift from his pockets.

Later when he was introduced to the president then he begin winning contracts and you can see any link? Don't forget whether the vehicle was given before or after the contract is still to thank the president for his influence in securing contacts to this contractor. This is common sense law. I thought Baako gained notoriety as a "journalist" because of his dedication to digging up facts in what his admirers described as a "forensic" manner? Now, he tempers conclusions reached by forensic examination with subjectivity? Manasseh =10; Baako = Minus 5!

The concluding part of a bribe or even a corrupt act is the phrase " for personal use or benefit". I think what we should be doing at this very time, is to establish indeed whether the car is actually in the presidential car pool as alleged. What is the essence of taking a bribe and not using it for a personal gain. If indeed it is found out that, the ford is at presidency for public services, we public should be spared with some of things being spewed out by politicians.

Ken Kuranchie epitomizes the Akyem Mafia of the NPP. Their gross intolerance of divergent views, even from among themselves, is amply demonstrated by Ken in his criticism of Kweku Baako, who, many know, has been supporting Akufo-Addo all along.

But I hope Kweku Baako would learn from this, and recognize the type of Politicians he has been in bed with in the Akyem Mafia.

If anyone dares to oppose their views, especially, those views they see as likely to advance their singular goal of capturing the Presidency for Akufo-Addo, no matter how diabolical or fatuous, that person automatically becomes an enemy, and they would not spare him or her their most vitriolic attacks.

As Kweku Baako said, if that is how Ken Kuranchie and his gang of Akyem-Mafia want it, so be it, and let us reach back to investigate all Ghanaian Politicians who have taken a Gift from a Contractor to determine whether it was a bribe or a permissible Gift.

Surely, when the news broke about this Gift of a car to President Mahama, the immediate worry was that he might have accepted a bribe from the Contractor. But as the story developed further and more details came out, it was not as simple as the initial news Article made it sound and look like.

So, when cases like this fall into a gray zone, it is only wise and fair not to jump into conclusions but reserve the benefit of doubt to the target until it is proven beyond reasonable doubt that the a crime has been committed.

It is disturbingly incredulous that folks like Ken Kuranchie who claims to be so learned and politically and journalistically enlightened would almost always rush to declare verdicts on issues that require further assessment to judge.

What is even funnier about this episode is how the Akufo-Addo Akyem-Mafia would not even concede precedents to this Gift case. It is as if to say, so long as it is about Mahama, we offer no room to accommodate his innocence, even if all facts prove him so, and in this case, even if others before him had committed similar acts and we saw no wrong with them.

The danger here for Akufo-Addo is that this trend of his Mafia's would be piling up debris to bury any little credibility left in his campaign by the time the Elections comes up.
