We all know where the CJ's interest is.
In any case if names of NHIS car registrants are removed, it wouldn't be respecter of any party.

She's definitely an agent for NDC. The opposition should NOT make a mistake to allow her use that tainted Registers Voter we have to conduct the 2016 election. It's IMPOSSIBLE to clean it of all undesirables: It's a potential list designed to WIN election for NDC. That FLAWED Voters Register has to go if Ghana can have a FAIR election and therefore PEACE after that election.

The mandate to ensure peaceful elections in this country is now firmly within the bosom of the EC to ensure it's mandate to conduct free, fair, credible, transparent elections based off of a credible process, credible procedures and a credible voter roll is upheld.
Having done that, with the active engagement of all players and actors, winners and losers in this contest of ideas to move our country forward, would be invested in the peace and stability required to ensure the socio-economic development of this country.
The posture of one party in this contest which is the John Mahama NDC gov't, premised on the very erroneous impression and unconstitutional understanding, it is mandated and required to govern for two terms, when it has failed and Ghanaians insist it must leave office, but believes those calls of Ghanaians feeling the brunt of such failed leadership does not matter, then we are setting the stage and a sure recipe for chaos and disaster, especially when the neutral body tasked with conducting the exercising of the constitutional human right of the Ghanaian to self-determination and universal or common suffrage is seen to be undermined by the one party acting in cahoots with the neutral body in this case the EC.
The words of the Supreme Court to the effect the EC would not be allowed to plunge this country into chaos with the belief it is i.e. the EC an authority unto itself could not have come at a much better and opportune moment in the history of elections in this country.
The EC must actively, consistently and persistently resolve to do the right thing and that is non-negotiable, credible elections ensures peace and stability and you can never have it any other way.

So far the political parties have proven that they can accept if even grudgingly when they lose elections. The EC on the other has proven over the years that although each election is fraught with problems they are incapable of initiating reforms on their own without public pressure or pressure for its international donors. All elections from district, parliamentary to presidential polls lack high standards of excellence. Even when it comes abiding by the law of waiting for a number of days before their CI comes into effect the EC has had to be challenged in court to do the right. The EC technocrats and lawyers cannot claim they did not know they were insert a wrong for of national identity when they inserted the NHS card into the CI for 2012 elections. We have trusted the EC for too long and they have become complacent and arrogant. No more. The EC must prove itself that it is up to the task of organising and enforcing a free and fair election in 2016, and halt the machinations of individual parties to rig the elections. So far if you listen to the EC's snobbish comments on anything regarding reforms or the voter's register you would she is more interested in doing nothing whilst whitewashing the dangerous status quo. She should be careful the plea for a new register does not lead to instance on a new truly independent national electoral commission. The will be a very likely outcome if the EC'S negligence causes a constitutional crisis

The EC did not contravene to any law by registering voters with NHIS. Moreover, if their names are to be deleted, does it affect only the NPP? It apparently affects all contesting parties. When supreme court ordered you to delete names of ineligible registrants from the voter's register, this stupid woman said she was not going to do it because as to her understanding, an independent body as the EC cannot be compelled to obey such rules. This is the reason why we are here now looking for ways and means to stop thugs looking to cause mayhem during the elections. This stupid woman has been compelled to bring all names of the NHIS registrants in the voter's register in addition to time table to act according to the rule of law regarding Abu Ramadan's court case. Now this idiot, Schallot Osei now know that we need peace before, during and after the elections. If she thinks by registering Togolese, Ivorians and Brukinabes will bring about peace, then so be it. Again even as every citizen is entitled to vote during elections, there is no hard and fast rules to compel any citizen to register. But then again if someone decides not to register, then obviously,that person cannot vote and so what is this foolish woman talking about compelling every Ghanaian citizen to vote. It is only those who want to vote that will vote and theer is no compulsion as to whether or not one wants to vote or register. It all depends on the individuals whish and or want. obaafoo.

Some arguments are right but most are based on one's political party leanings which is very unfortunate. Go to Budubram the Liberians' refugee camp on the Winneba road and ask about the effects of war on the citizenry and you will be shocked of your hearings. Wife , daughters, sisters and mothers raped or killed; houses burnt, no food, break down of law and order with life of ALL (combatants and non combatants) becoming short and brutish.
Countrymen and women I have seen it, tasted it, and experienced it so let's say NO to prophets of doom and war mongers. Most politicians will forget us when they attain the high office they aspired for. God bless our homeland Ghana.

Her outfit have been compelled to expunge all those who registered with NHIS cards to re-register before they can be allowed to vote. That is what the apex court of the land is telling her to do, before this country is set on fire. She should not think that she and her family will run away, that should be the last thing on her mind, because she and those who think like her will be the first to be consumed by the fire. Do you think the Liberians and the people of Sierra Leone just wanted to set their country ablaze? Use your head woman, it seems you do not know your job,or you are intentionally trying to favor one of the presidential candidates, that is why the Supreme Court has told you to due your work with all honesty. You will cause chaos if you're seen wearing a jersey of one of the team playing in the finals of which you're officiating! Shame on Charllote Osei for making these statement but cannot stand by the statement through action.

Mrs Osei isn't practising what she's preaching. She seems to be pompous, and I think that's a true and fair assessment of her character as EC boss. She should do her job properly instead of boring us with unnecessary philosophical rhetoric. Here are the flaws in all the four points in her speech:

1. The EC isn't ensuring an inclusive, transparent electoral process with a bloated voters' register (an issue in the Election Petition, which the judges advised needed to be addressed), and with some voters who have been registered unconstitutionally (i.e. via NHIS cards), hence ineligible to vote.

2. To respect the rule of law, she had to obey the SC (the highest court of the land) and acted promptly on its order to expunge the voters' register of ineligible voters, instead of incurring the anger of the SC for being irresponsive for 6+ weeks. Has she forgotten voting is 5 months away?

3. When concerns about the electoral process are raised by the people, it should be perceived as the voice of reason, whether loud or not. In this case, per the SC ruling, the loudest voices were right, and the EC needs to heed and respect the needs and concerns of the PEOPLE, instead of viewing it solely as those of political actors (which is how I think she's looking at it).

4. Ghanaians have been doing their part by calling for a clean voters' register and a transparent process. The EC is not doing its part. If the EC was doing its part effectively, then Ghanaians won't be complaining. If the EC was doing its part, then their focus would have been on overhauling the voter's register, instead of rebranding the EC - which points to a misplaced vision and poor leadership.

We wish the EC does right by us the people in ensuring a free, fair and transparent election.
