They did this to save their ruling families with the qssistance of western super powers. So yes they had nothing. But it can still happen in Ghana since more than half of the youths have no better future. They have been deceived that education is the key. With no money in pocket to begin a career after graduation, how can u even begin life. So yes empty youthful life with no experience in the field of passion. In the first place, stop confusing the youth to go to school. It's getting more and more useless to school. Find some manufacturing work from scratch. It's only thus era that an uneducated guy who works at magazine boast of a better life than we those who burned nights on useless books thinking life would be better. The Russia's refused to let lib to repeat in Syria, the Saudis moved to suppress the Yemenis, n Bahrainis by propping up armed oppositions. The uneducated and poor were led to believe rising up will change their lot in life but look around; they are 10 times worse off. Who do think sold them all the military gear? American and British Companies; how did the my pay for the gear? Future sweet oil deals. The West has the Arabs in a choke hold but they are led to believe their heads are just being petted. You fool, you are dying slowly but you don't see it. Libya was a progressive country with a currency stronger than the US dollar for over 20 years straight until the uprising, now what is their currency worth? Nothing, if it still exists. The reason such an uprising will not happen in Ghana is because we have nothing the West wants otherwise they would have armed our youth to disrupt the country long ago. They have already gotten from us what they wanted, our strong men and women for slave labor centuries ago. We have nothing they want and can't get a better one elsewhere for cheaper. Look at the unemployment rate before and after the Arab spring in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya etc. As for corruption it is even at unprecedented levels than those been experienced in Nig. Candidate E. Mahama what we need is a peace change of government from one reign to another. Looking at how imbeciles stokes tribal and religious tension for political gains, a revolution will lead to armed conflict in diverse forms; political, ethnic, religious among others which will erode all the gains achieved since independence within three months of any conflict. Graduates are suffering from unemployment but we are enjoying peace. Just cross the border to Abidjan and hear what the graduates will tell you the experiences they went through, throughout those ten years of armed conflict; no job, no peace, no business opportunity and it was even difficult to farm because of security reasons.

Presently, the Arabs conribute the highest proportion of the world's refugees. Clearly, an Arab Spring cannot bring anything better than what we presently have.
Democracy based on the rule of law is not perfect because of the imperfect human beings who practise it but it is the best form of governance system on this earth. Democracy is peaceful and it is far better than chaos where everybody can take the law into his hands.
It's unfortunate an aspiring president does not know the uselessness of an Arab Spring.
