What I love most about Jesus Christ is that He never turned anyone away who asked for help and he was prompt in any given day or night except that of His own friend Lazarus but for a reason why He delayed. So that the world would see that “He is the Resurrection”. In a similar case compared to that of this doctor, Jesus healed so many times on the Sabbath day, a day of worship. Yet you allowed a patient to suffer when you are even commissioned and paid for to save a life and it’s your working hours too, unless. Which is more Christian thing to do? Save a life for which you are even paid to do or leave for a Church service? God would judge and not me?

Religion is a bane in our development and it is high time we knew this. I would not be surprised if this allegation is true knowing how deep religion has corrupted many a mind of a professional. Until we realise this and take pragmatic measures to address problems of the nation, I am sorry we shall be marking time in our national development. This doctor must be punished if the allegation is true but would be punished when those who would do the punishment would be afraid to do so because they would be afraid to "incur the wrath of God" with due apology to Kofi Awoonor.

I am surprised at the comments made on this platform particularly concerning this situation. I am yet to understand why the patient's mother had to drive all the way from the central region ignoring all the numerous hospitals and polyclinics nearby just to land her daughter in a polyclinic at Kaneshie. There is a lot to understand from her story and I must be quick to add that perhaps, the behaviour of the woman has to be investigated . In Kasoa, there is a government facility which could provide the adequate care needed for her patient. Come again journalist with the true story and stop be one sided.

Assuming the doctor himself was sick and needed divine intervention, who are we to judge him? Assuming this doctor had been working 24 hours and never had any break, and felt the best place to be should be the presence of his God, who are we to judge him?
There could be many sides to this issue as LORD S pointed out.
Let's analyse a little bit as people and stop the hasty conclusions.
Even for all you know, this is an imaginary story.

Based on this fear a trained doctor can leave a critically ill patient and go to church. forget that he's a doctor who's supposed to know science and technology , he's deeply mentally enslaved and will pass on that slavery shackles to his kids and grandchildren .

he has no excuse to leave this kid to suffer. freethinkers, atheists, deists and pagans wouldnt do this. i can bet my last dollar on it. instead of using humanity and science as our basis for living and development we are deeply ingrained in religion and superstition as the panacea for morality and problems solving .

nothing will change until a generation of blacks who breaks out from the last slavery shackles (islam and christianity ) dominate the african continent .

I had a similar experience with the healthcare personnel at the so-called fertility clinic at Tema ( PROVITA) recently when my wife was left to bleed with excruciating pain after an IVF procedure just because the sole doctor at the clinic was attending his sister's funeral in Kumasi. It was a horrible and emotional experience my wife and I underwent.The conditions and the human relations at this hospital is unapologically unfriendly that all the time the patients become unsuspecting victims.There is no respect and value for the people who patronize these fake money making institutions in the country.They need to be checked and regulated by some laws.
