Some of us have always known that the NPP strategy of labeling the President as corrupt was a strategy to hide their own massive corruption in their party. if there was ever a doubt, Chairman Wuntomi's aide has erased all that. Now we know NPP better.

What Atuguba is saying with what he deliberately kept mute on, is that "EC did not present the names of NHIS-card users to the SC". Atuguba is afraid that millions of NHIS-card users will appear, asking to be registered again. This would create a big confusion, because EC has told Supreme Court that less than 57,000 registered with NHIS-cards.

It is indeed dangerous for our democracy to delete names without due process. So the EC says they have a list of those who registered with an NHIS card only. The EC then goes on to delete names without due process. The voters who have been deleted from the register are unaware so they do not make any attempt to re-register.
Even if the voters are notified, which is near impossible, the voters argue that they did not use NHIS cards to register, the EC got it wrong.
The EC cannot possibly contact all these voters that they are claiming used NHIS card to register because they simply do not know where they are now except where they registered.
So some turn up on polling day to vote and are told their names are not on the register. They are told their names have been deleted because they used only NHIS cards as Identification in order to register to vote.
Or, miscreants within EC delete names of voters they believe to be unfavourable to their preferred candidate so they go ahead and delete even though they are not on the list as directed by the court. So polling is closed, and those disenfranchised make noise. Do we cancel the election because of a handful of people who are unable to vote?
The Lawyers for and Ramadan cannot be part of the process as that will be seen to be interfering because they are an interested party and conflict of interest is likely to arise. Plus, They have not been given powers by the court to monitor the process.
Ramadan himself alluded to the list being inaccurate. That means they may well be people on the list who did not use NHIS cards to register but found their names on the list and being unfairly disenfranchised through the deleting exercise. This problematic for our democracy to delete names just like that.
Who is to say that those who used NHIS only to register cannot validate their registration and re-register with other forms of identification? Perhaps, the first step will be to notify such people and give them the opportunity to verify their identities via some other acceptable and legitimate means. That indeed will give these voters who are alleged to have used only NHIS cards to register an opportunity to either confirm or deny such an allegation. And also, to give them the opportunity to verify their registration by other means.
The assumption is that, those who used NHIS only to register may not be qualified to vote. We simply do not know that.
And indeed, we could end up deleting a majority of NPP voters if the list of those who used NHIS cards to register are loyal to the NPP. It is anybody's guess because we know very little about how these NHIS registrants are likely to vote.
The court’s directive is a knee jerk reaction which is likely to be regretted in the future.
We are none the wiser.

It is indeed dangerous for our democracy to delete names without due process. So the EC says they have a list of those who registered with an NHIS card only. The EC then goes on to delete names without due process. The voters who have been deleted from the register are unaware so they do not make any attempt to re-register.
Even if the voters are notified, which is near impossible, the voters argue that they did not use NHIS cards to register, the EC got it wrong.
The EC cannot possibly contact all these voters that they are claiming used NHIS card to register because they simply do not know where they are now except where they registered.
So some turn up on polling day to vote and are told their names are not on the register. They are told their names have been deleted because they used only NHIS cards as Identification in order to register to vote.
Or, miscreants within EC delete names of voters they believe to be unfavourable to their preferred candidate so they go ahead and delete even though they are not on the list as directed by the court. So polling is closed, and those disenfranchised make noise. Do we cancel the election because of a handful of people who are unable to vote?
The Lawyers for and Ramadan cannot be part of the process as that will be seen to be interfering because they are an interested party and conflict of interest is likely to arise. Plus, They have not been given powers by the court to monitor the process.
Ramadan himself alluded to the list being inaccurate. That means they may well be people on the list who did not use NHIS cards to register but found their names on the list and being unfairly disenfranchised through the deleting exercise. This problematic for our democracy to delete names just like that.
Who is to say that those who used NHIS only to register cannot validate their registration and re-register with other forms of identification? Perhaps, the first step will be to notify such people and give them the opportunity to verify their identities via some other acceptable and legitimate means. That indeed will give these voters who are alleged to have used only NHIS cards to register an opportunity to either confirm or deny such an allegation. And also, to give them the opportunity to verify their registration by other means.
The assumption is that, those who used NHIS only to register may not be qualified to vote. We simply do not know that.
And indeed, we could end up deleting a majority of NPP voters if the list of those who used NHIS cards to register are loyal to the NPP. It is anybody's guess because we know very little about how these NHIS registrants are likely to vote.
The court’s directive is a knee jerk reaction which is likely to be regretted in the future.
We are none the wiser.

Delete names of voters on the register who used the NHIS card as proof of citizenship to register to vote. It also instructed EC that those whose names are deleted should be given the opportunity to show proof of citizenship to register to vote. That is called "due process". That concept is enshrined into the constitution . So Why this idea of "automaticity " being dangerous coming from? The Supreme Court's instructions were very clear so stop offering hankies to the NDC ignoramius who are still licking their chops about the ruling. Please tell your people the case is not an NDC vs. NPP duel. It about all Ghanaians and how they can go about registering to vote per our constitution.
Our constitution says to vote in our elections you must prove citizenship and register before you can vote. Our Supreme Court has ruled that using NHIS card to prove citizenship to register to vote is unconstitutional. So all those on our Electorial register who used the NHIS card to register have failed the constitutinal test of citizenship to be on the voters register and should be removed and then re-register to vote. Not rocket science so don't confuse us. Due process is enshrined in our constitution and the SC instructed the EC to follow it. Better help Ghana by doing some pro bono work or quietly stay in your Ivory tower.
