I own two drones: a small one for my son to play around with it in our compound and a professional one for my professional aerial photography and video shoots. I agree there should be some regulatory measures in place so that these drones would be used responsibly and safely without danger to lives and property. Again also in times of terrorism, etc, it will be in the right place to have a database of how many drones, which types and who owns them in the country.

However, this is emerging technology and Ghana should be proud of being part of it and should encourage residents to actively promote this technology in the country. Thus any policies put in place should rather be targeted at promoting drone usage instead of the opposite. Thus it should not be too expensive to obtain a license if it becomes a requirement. The process should be a simple one not like the present cumbersome nature of obtaining a building permit!
I will also wish to call for the formation of drone-flying clubs to teach people how to safely operate these drones so they don't become a menace. Their potential for development is very high.
