If NPP is in celebretory mood per the ruling of Supreme court, it beg the question as to whether NPP supporters togethere with their shoe shine Boys had the Requisite identifiable requirement apart from this NHIS.Granted that all those NHIS registrants belong to NDC the same SC ruling allow EC to re-register them so why is NPP laughing?

May be their laughter stems from SC ambiquity-delete NHIS registrants and re-register them!.Georgina Wood´s SC could have help the cause of peace in the Country if the ruling was proactive rather than retroactive.Common sense dictate that those who registered with NHIS 4years ago would be allowed to remain in the electoral Album while EC would not Register anybody in the future using NHIS as the only/sufficient document as a proof of nationality.

So NPP´s sense of excitement may turn out to be a huge sense of disappointment with Georgina Wood been put to shame big time because her ruling is politicall tainted..

Law law or ruling must not take retrospective effect the reason why we can not charge anyone for crime committed in furtherance of the policies of the state during the colonial administration and military juntas. The reason why we have imdenmities inserted in all the constitutions including the 1992 constitution. Thus even though an act is unconstitutional but at the time it was done there is no law banning it or prescribing punishment for it a person can not be charge for it. Thus a person who takes up arms against the colonial regime in 1056 can not be charge later in 1960 when Ghana became independent for trying to overthrow a state call Ghana. We sighted Article 11 of the U.N. Convention on Human Rights to state our point the other time, and that convention has in part been incorporated into the 1992 Constitution.
So Ghanaians who are been deprived of the Supreme Court to exercise their right to Universal Adult Suffrage should petition the United Nation Commission on Human Rights to have their right to the right to vote and take part in referendums to be restored by the same Supreme Court, since Ghana is a signatory to the U.N. Conventions.

What a twisted ruling? And so Abu Ramadan has got the S.C. on leash? This is one single useless piece of legislation and to me it feels like waking up from a slumber to be told it was all a HOAX.

Tuobodom voted NDC to win in 2008. Now the Chiefs are calling for vote for NPP. This is politics and so what is the real use of deleting names of electorates before VOTES ARE ACTUALLY CAST? If it is about minor's and double registration, it will make sense. But a ruling which smells of oligarchy , i.e. presumption that people who hold NHIS (may not all be Ghanaian or perhaps poor) hence most likely to vote NDC?

Is NDC Party of foreigners or the poor who will need NHIS Cards? Does the numbers of Ghanaian NHIS Card holders outnumbered by foreigners?

If the EC is sincere and deletes such names, it is the NDC party which will be the loser because almost all the Togolese voters voted for the NDC in 2012 and may not be able to vote in 2016.

What amazes me with all these NHIS nonsense is that the law allows that any two people who show up with an ID will be sufficient to qualify the voter to register. We all are aware that our driving licence and passports are in the hands of many non - Ghanaians and the commonest I'D card card the most Ghanaians have has also been disallowed.Why did we decide to use it on the first place?
